This made me laugh, because my husband and I had this discussion last night. He states his mother never caught him, and that if I am worried about walking in on my son when he's a bit older (only a year or two to go, I fear) then I will have to learn to knock and wait for an invitation to go in. Without meaning to sound judgemental, maybe that's what you'll have to do from now on? I don't envy you, though.

FFP are you near any of us at all, and could pop round on you?

You play cluedo at 14:00 with the kids
DS1 rarely shuts his door but if it is shut I would knock before going in there, just the same as I don't shut our bedroom door much but if I do I'd expect them to knock. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
