Hillarys is owned by a large aluminium co as far as I remember, they use small agents who sell and fit on there behalf. The problem you have is that each blind has its own facia, and they will not 'blend' together unless each facia is cut at 45 degrees, not easy without a portable chop or band saw. Bay windows and conservatory windows are not easy to get a good fit, with rollers or venetians, the window was not designed to accomodate the brackets etc, and the facia band is supplied to fit a single opening, recessed window. What you have received is 'venetian blinds' as standard, no frils, the price is crazy, and as an ex blind fitter of 15 years, I bought my wood venetians from Ikea and cut them to fit. take up UK bills offer, Hilarys are pretty *rap.

Hillarys are very *rap! Don't touch them with a bargepole for either buying blinds or if you're thinking of becoming an Advisor.

    Update
Hillarys have finally accepted our 50% deposit as full and final payment for a poor job.
We got £120 via Quidco when ordering so final payment is £350.
    I consider that a result.
I will be pming ukbill for a price!
    Cheers everyone.

I wanted venetians a few years back, but I had 9 windows I wanted them in (house had 15 windows, but the rest had blinds already).

    - 3 in each of 2 bays (6' drop)
    - singles in three other bedrooms (6' drop)

As the windows were different widths, and a super-long drop, I spent ages sourcing them all from one supplier. I knew I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg, I chose simple white ones (not like those cheapo plastic ones; they were plastic but the un-plastic-looking ones).

Finally found a supplier, they did them in various widths all divisible by 15cm. They would cut them to size, cheaply, but I was too tight for that and figured it'd be OK and nobody would notice that they weren't all 100% equidistant from the frames.

Then I hired a top local bloke to fit them ... I was feverishly unwrapping them and handing them to him, he expertly fitted them.

    9 blinds: £109
    fitting: £25

    Win.

They looked gorgeous. Nobody would ever have guessed I'd done it on a budget. I often thought of sourcing the blinds directly myself and setting up in business :)
