I am currently with orange (but have cancelled) and wondering what to do now. Due to being on a low tariff orange have not offered me anything to stay, either as a upgrade or when i cancelled and all the phones on the basic tariff i dont like. I currently have the 6500 slide and find it easy to use but it now appears discontinued.

Looking at 02 i can get a sim only with 800 mins unlimited text for £19.00 this is what I am currently paying with orange 200 mins unlimted texts. Can you have less mins and pay cheaper? There is nothing on the website but is it worth a call and would I give them my pac code and keep my number or cant I do this with sim only?

I would then need insurance for my phone, how would this work, I currently pay £6 a month with orange.

Thanks

Why don't you add the phone on your home insurance it costs from £nil to about £35 a year

If I added to my home insurance and I do claim (the phone has gone faulty three times in the last 18 months) will effect the price next time as a normal H ins claim does?
  • As dacouch says, it's a no brainer paying additional insurance for a phone. Unless you are one of the people who must have a replacement phone within 24 hrs etc...

Also, the O2 deal via TopCashback/Quidco as featured on last week's tips email) is extended until midnight Monday.

It works out at £11.25/month for 800mins, 1600 texts and a bolt-on. the free web browsing option is pretty amazing. As the Nokia 6500 features email and instant messaging, this may be the bolt-on for you...
...and then the window licker said to me...

Thanks, sorry to sound dim, but after I have entered my details will there be a section to enter my pac code in?
  • Once the O2 sim is activated, go to the O2 website and enter your PAC there. They state that the tranfer will take place within 2 days from receipt...
