BT Changed Number Announcement

This it totally possible, i set it up only 2 months ago as i had to change numbers for my business as I was moving to another exchange.
Anyway, i think they called it a CNI and it is roughly £33 per quarter, and literally has a recorded message saying, this number has now changed to.......!
Hope that helps!
Thanks.
BT's price list excels again, searched for CNI (in capitals) and all it returns were entries with "coins" highlighted in it. Not sure how anyone finds anything using search, but then again maybe that is what BT wants.
At least I know it exists so can ask for it when I call BT up to cancel line.0 -
Sounds as if you may want the BT Caller Redirect Service
The prices appear here - seems to be £19.58/month or 29.36/quarter for a residential line..

Its a service called caller redirect and costs £15.00 a month or £30.00 a quarter.0

Hi ACDeag,
The service used to be called CNI but is now called Caller Redirect...here is a link to the moving home section where there is information about caller redirect
http://www2.bt.com/btPortal/application?origin=tm_con_hub_page.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.portlet.event&pageid=total_movers_con&portletid=total_movers_con&wfevent=event.tm_overview&LEFT_NAV=lessStress
The service can be ordered monthly or quarterly. The monthly charge is £19.58 inc VAT or £29.36 per quarter inc VAT. There is no reduction in the charges if it is not required for a full chargeable period. Caller Redirect can be ordered when arranging to have your service moved. You cannot personalise the message and calls to the old number are free of charge.
Many Thanks
Donna

There is a much cheaper and better way for keeping your old number even when moving hundreds of miles away.
We did this when moving from Warrington (01925 area code) to Ludlow (01584 area code).
Go to Vonage website and sign up to their basic service (it's £5.99 per month for unlimited UK calls).
Transfer your number to Vonage
Then set up the SimulRing option to divert all calls to your new number.
You can then take your phone number wherever you go for just £5.99 a month, plus if you plug your Vonage box into an ethernet connection wherever you are you can also make free phone calls to anyone in the UK on it, plus you can receive your phone calls wherever you are.
When on holiday I sometimes take my box and wi-fi to ethernet box along with me and then even have a home phone on holiday using the free wi-fi.
It's a shame though BT don't get with the times and learn to use VOIP to it's full potential, and rip out all copper wire phone lines, replace them with fibre optics and send all phone calls through VOIP, that would solve a lot of problems such as keeping numbers throughout the UK and superfast broadband in many areas, but BT only see the end customer as a cash cow and if they can rip them off in any way they will.
Still can't believe that BT can get away with bundling "free evening and weekend calls" and a phone line when you just want internet from them, that's worse than when Microsoft used to force Internet Explorer onto Windows users and push all other companies out of the competition, with that deal BT are deliberately blocking all VOIP companies out of the UK phone market.0
