Hi,
I've just had a quote for some work the needs doing in our kitchen, I hope you can give me your thoughts.
Electrical Work.
Plumbing/Gas Work.
Quoted price (not itemised on quotation) = £ 2180 inc. VAT
Seems rather high to me, we were a little shocked.
Any help/comments welcomed.

I've just had a quote for some work the needs doing in our kitchen, I hope you can give me your thoughts.
Electrical Work.
- 32amp cooker point put in kitchen (wired from cellar below kitchen - empty gap for fuse in fuse box)
- Light Switch moving to other side of door.
- Double socket to move a metre to the left on wall.
- Add 2 extra sockets on other wall, (next to an existing socket ring main)
- Add another socket 2 metres to left of above.
- Extend the electrical cable of our boiler below worktops.
Plumbing/Gas Work.
- Plumb in sink 2 metres from combi-boiler in kitchen. (to our own sink and taps)
- Drill though outside wall and fit waste pipe down to existing drain.
- Attach dishwasher to waste pipe.
- Cut off water to old sink. (We will remove sink, etc.)
- Connect gas cooker.
Quoted price (not itemised on quotation) = £ 2180 inc. VAT
Seems rather high to me, we were a little shocked.
Any help/comments welcomed.

A days work for each trade so, very conservatively, each man will be on about £900.00 a day. I really dont know how some "tradesmen" sleep at night. Should be at least half of that estimate.
