broken iphone 3gs help

hello i wonder if someone could give me some advice...

i purchased a new iphone 3gs from mobiles.co.uk. i'd had the first one less than 2 weeks before it froze, the screen expanded and couldn't get it back. i took it to thee carphone warehouse who confirmed it was broken and asked me to return it via mobilles.co.uk. i called them up, couldn't get through, emailed them and they called me back asking me top return it via special delivery and they would send me a new iphone and refund me. the second iphone i had was 2 days old before the same happened again. i tried to call and their standard message advises me there is a 1 hour wait due to sickness. i've emailed them saying i want to cancel the lot and they have answered advising how to cancel the insurance.

i then contacted o2 who suggested i go direct to apple-again this costs to send the iphone to the states. i've cc'd in consumer direct, the oft and oftel and so far no one has come back to me. in the meantime i have a broken iphone in my kitchen and o2 are continuing to deduct the £45 per month for the contract. where do i go from here?? it's been going on over a week now...

any advice would be appreciated...

thanks

caz

no no no.. you don't have to send it to the states.. who told you that? o2?
all you need to do is book a genius appointment at your nearest apple store at https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/

or if you go to apple.com/uk/support you can organise to send it in there.. apple send YOU a box, you put it in the box, and send it off, and apple send it you back.. you don't have to pay anything..

however, the store is the preferred option, as they should swap it there and then for you
