Employers can get huge grants for people like yourself (20 years old) towards the cost of driving lessons if it is needed for the job.I know someone just a few years older than yourself where the employer only had to pay about £300 of about £1,500 for a class 2 HGV driving course.

    Part of the Furniture
If I have been told that I can get a job providing that I attend a further coaching course does anyone know if there are funds to cover this situation?

there is a scheme running at the moment if you have been on jsa for 6 months you can now get a form which you can use when job hunting.

£500 paid to the potential employer when they take you on, another £500 when you have been employed for 26 weeks and a possible £1500 for any training required to do your job.

so in theory although the op is unlikely to get driving lessons up front, if the employer took them on under this scheme and said driving is part of the job then possibly the £1500 could go towards the costs.

unlike many of these schemes its doesnt seem to matter if you already have higher level qualifications ie above gsce / A level (level 2 and 3 in government speak)

Even IF they did give you driving lessons,

How are you going to afford a car???

The employer is only 500yds down the lane from me..a pushbike is all i need to get to work..
A licence is required for the job..
    thank you..

There is a difference between travel costs and giving you money to buy driving lessons. The funds are there for things like travel costs NOT to pay £500+ a time for driving lessons and they were told NEVER TO DO THIS.

As in my thread I am willing to repay the money....after i start work... thank you..
