Hi Guys!
Had a very slow morning but joints and muscles just coming around:o
WM has been on and hung on line by DD. DW is on atm and floors have been hoovered and scrubbed. DD has her Sunday jobs to do later and we will have something light for tea as we just finished our roast a little while ago.
Somebody posted a voucher code for Abel & Cole yesterday, so I have ordered 2 x FR Chickens (1.7kg with giblets), 18 FR Pork sausages, 500g Fresh minted potato soup, fresh wm loaf, onions and chicken wings for the grand total of just under £22. I thought this was excellent value. The sausages were on 3 for 2. I think we should get at least 10 meals from that:D
DD has her summer uni Monday-Wednesday this week and the course is web design. Next week she has specialised drawing and farm work for 4 days. She is also away with her friends for 2 nights, so should be quiet around here;)
OH has ironing to do later. He washed the car earlier and done the inside too, so has been a busy bee.
We had carrots and cabbage from the veg patch for lunch and they were lovely. What's the best way to blanch cabbage if we need to use them up quickly and the carrots? We also have about 40 apples on our mini tree out the front to use up....any suggestions? They are golden delicious? Would they be ok for crumble filling and could I make a crumble and freeze?
Hope everyone is okay. Hugs to all.

I am glued to my computer watching a disc on ebay.de. I am not moving for another hour
Sniping software is very erratic on the German ebay and most of the time doesn't work. OH has the task of bidding as it will need to be sent to his parents as the seller doesn't ship internationally. It's currently very low, but I have a feeling it's going to rocket at the end (I have a sneaky suspicison from the photo that it's an American first pressing).
Stef - have a great time at Reading, hope it stays dry - line up looks good
I would have loved to have gone for the friday, but couldn't justify that and Knebworth. Placebo are amazing live, although the lead singer hasn't aged gracefully; I had a real crush on him when I was a kid!
We walked up the river to the pub yesterday with some friends from work. The walk was nice, but the pub was swarming with wasps and the food was sub-standard and expensive.
Not doing much else, fruit, crackers and cheese for lunch. I will be at work for the next eight hours or so, minimally *sigh* Cells to feed, things to do.
Leftover pork for tea as it really needs using up
have a good day, cel x :staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

redruby - is the baked beetroot tasty? was given several huge beetroots the other day.
Ohhh its delish, In fact I have more in the oven now, just wash it, and put it in the oven in a roasting tray covered in foil, no oil or anything on it, once its cooked through (may take a while) peel it slice it, and pour over melted butter and sprinkle a good handfull of parmasan, salt and pepper, ohh my mouth is watering
Been in the garden for most of the day, picked runner beans, beetroot, onions, corgettes carrots :Tthe veg is being blanced off now, ready to freeze, apart from the beetroot, which is in the oven.
I have also made a huge amount of banana and choc chip muffins, I found 12 black bananas in the freezer, where i shove them if they are starting to turn. So i will send some muffins to work with OH for the 'boys' and send some up to my mum and dad.
Ok need a cuppa now, have fun all x0 -

Pick while still green check they do not have any bruises. Wrap them individually in kitchen paper, place them in box lined with several days' newspapers (or an apple/pear box if you can scrounge one from a supermarket) and layer them with newspaper. Then store in a dry, cool dark place (garage is ideal if you have one). They will keep for several months, and ripen slowly.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Evening everyone
Another nice day here, and think the weather has held out at Ledbury for DS too.
M-M Sorry to hear about your unwanted visitor and missing car - some folks need there hands cutting off:mad: - it is the thought they have been in your home and you had no idea:eek:
2 loads of washing done and dried on the line, got one of those retractable lines from Aldi last week and it now gets the washing in the sun to dry nicely. Visited Gt Niece & Nephew + their M&D of course, called in Maplins for some wire to add two spotlights to the 'van - DH's task for tomorrow.
Still wading through the old paperwork but it is getting there very slowly.
:grouphug: to all those not 100%
Take care - DG

Evening all,
Still here as no car or replacement...car has been located and is currently in a lock up waiting to be examined by police to-morrow...should know what the story is around lunchtime as nobody seems to know if its damaged or not, there are apparently keys with it so at least brother's front door key should be safe! Too late to go to Kerry as we would have to come back on Wednesday and its over 200 miles so littlies wouldn't have time to recover from journey....another time hopefully.
Had some lovely fresh mackerel, pollock and whiting for dinner to-day, courtesy of DS3, who was fishing in Cork yesterday, had it with cauliflower, peas and steamed potatoes, really nice.
Can't seem to plan anything until I know what's happening with car...thanks for all nice thoughts.
Hugs to all who are in need or want to-day, thank you all for being my friends

Firstly, sorry about the car MM, hope it all works out for you.Well today,we got up early as weather was beautiful, got the bikes out of shed and cycled all way up to ASDA - about 3 miles all told I reckon which is brill for us 2 bike newbies. The first thing I noticed is everyone spoke to us on the bikes! really weird, then we had brekkie and did some housework, tried to get the limescale off the shower door but struggled even with chemicals however looks a 100% better - we then did a small BBQ for tea, then had a visit from daughter who has moved out but wont get broadband for another few weeks so pops over to use ours, she then enjoyed some BBQ stuff as well, went to morrisons and got some nice pork cubes for just a £1 so will slow cooker them later in the week. Seems like we have been up all day we got up so early, the rain held off and we watched RIVERS tonight to top off a perfect day.:beer:Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0
