Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sun 9th August! It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning folks.

Dry and cloudy start, with a possible shower later. Church first off and then OH is going on to a boot sale and I am going to work. Boot sales seem to keep her happy.

Nothing else much to report here. Not much money saving news. just enjoy your day..

Morning N9eav and all who follow

up bright and early this Sunday morning as OH is at work.He hates working Sundays so is rattling round like a bear with a sore head:mad:.It was a lovely sunny day here yesterday so spent most of it either out of the house or in the garden. The kids have slowly got used to the good weather and now even bring their drawing stuff onto the deck furniture so they can enjoy the sunshine:D.The weather report doesnt look too good for today though but fingers crossed it is wrong.I did get the grass cut and strimmed yesterday so a little rain wouldnt be too disasterous and besides I bought a pile of lovely material for curtains that I promised to sew when the weather broke so maybe today will be the day:o.Got a pile of ironing to tackle in a moment which will just about make my morning:mad:

I've got some steak out of the freezer for OH and me for tea,the kids arent keen and its so dear these days and I'm so tight it pains me to throw it away when they dont eat it so I'll dig them something else out for their tea

Well thats the lot from me have a good day everyone

    Good morning guys,

Woke up at 5.30 and couldn't get back off so a little earlier start today. The patio set was powerwashed yesterday and today it will be painted and the fences tackled.

There is still some bacon left so it will be bacon butties all round for lunch and the chicken will morph in to a chicken pie for tea with chips I think.

My sis took the kids to the pier for a couple of hours yesterday and she will be popping around later this week with the vanette to do a B+Q for plants and paint for the kitchen.

It's gorgeous outside so I am going to finish this coffee and get going.

Meanmarie, how awful for you I hope it is sorted out quickly for you.

Hugs to all in need and have a great Sunday.

    Morning everyone.
Gorgeous blue sky and sunshine here at the mo. Not sure what forecast is but must get the lawn cut today (as soon as it's dried out from the morning dew).
I am pleased to say my H completed 12 hours (with breaks of course) of cycling yesterday and he did a total of 119.7 miles  He's raised around £1300 for The Anthony Nolan Trust. He had lovely sunny weather to do it (thankfully I insisted on the sun cream) and was thoroughly exhuasted at the end of it. His cousin Julie would be so proud of him (nearly as much as I am). Not sure he'll be back on the bike on monday to cycle into work though ;)
Not much else going on here today as H will be getting some much needed rest. Just a question of keeping the kids quiet (not easy as DD is going through her screeching phase ).
Not sure whats for tea but I have some courgettes from the garden I'd like to use. Have to pop to supermarket to get a couple of things too.

Haven't read yesterdays thread so hugs to those that need them.
Have a good day OS or not.

Bitsy - well done indeed to your DH. He deserves a rest after that marathon cycling!
MMarie- so sorry to hear about the car. How awful when people do that. I've been thinking about you going on your hols so I hope it gets sorted out soon.
PenPin- hope you are feeling a bit better today. Hope the sun is shining in your part of the country.
(((hugs))) to those in need of one today.
Bright and sunny so far. Need to get some washing on. We painted the livingroom yesterday so it is magnolia - not quite our cup of tea but the estate agent suggested it so we've done it. It makes the front room look a bit show-house like ie bland but that is good when you are selling I suppose.
Will try to get another charity bag of stuff sorted out today. I know I have some more books to go. Might also have a look in the linen cupboard as there are some table cloths that could go as well. I do love my table cloths and have loads from childhood and also a couple that were my granny's, as well as a load of lovely antique ones from an auction. So...I don't expect many will find there way into the charity shop bag!
Ok, off to sort out the washing (ok, might have a little browse on here first)

Well its yet another sunny morning for us here:T:T and its set to be a lovely day.

Dinner today will be one of the beef briskets that we brourt yesterday.
Not sure if we will be having it at lunch time or having it tonight. We might do it in the slow cooker but again not really decided it might end up in the oven yet.

No real plans for today. Just relaxing really. Hopeing to let the twins play in the garden for a bit later if it dont get to hot.

Well i hope that everyone has a good day and i hope that the sun comes out for you all too.
    Enjoy your sunday everyone:j:j

I`ve just managed a cooked breakfast so i`m a bit full now and want to go back to sleep, last night out with the girlies was great too but has left me rather tired, nap later methinks.
