Lynzpower, believe it or not, it was the Kings Arms boozer by the flyover. Never would have guessed from the outside, but did excellent Thai and home delivery for lazy days too. Average cost was £5.50 for a plate you'd struggle to finish. Sadly the chef is now gone :(

Will have a look at Rama - thanks!

I know the Kings next to the costcutter? I believe that was fantastic food in there, shame I missed it. Im just up the road leading with the bank on the corner....

Another recommendation is the skanky "matter of time" pub down by mile end station, reports from there have been superb from my mates, but Ive always been a bit erm, intimidated in there :)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Incidentally, Ive heard some really good reports on indian food from, of all places the Little Driver pub next to the bookies, almost opposite the courts. they do home delivery as well. Prices supposed to be OK, tikka masala not recommended, but dhals etc were said to be excellent.

Now, anyone know a DECENT chinese that delivers?? We were using prawn crackers in poplar, and golden dragon in stepney, but recenlty had duff ones from each. Tried ruby house not keen ( B Green)

(sorry to OP for going off topic)

Out of interest, what is that godawful tower block being built by the railway line- space2london, or something?

I thought it was a big storage depot, or office block, but in fact it looks like they're trying to get people to live in it.

    Vile.

Noticed you mentioned good Thai and Indian - would you mind posting the addresses pls as I've just lost my local Thai source in Bow.

    Thanks
No probs! Both are around 10mins from Stratford tube, through the shopping centre.

"Thailander" - behind a grotty pub of the same name, near Maryland station. Great reviews and details here

"Muskaan" - small place next to Stratford 'village' which opened in the last year (or so) with a much more modern interior than other indian restaurants in the area. Bit of a wait for food, but it is worth it as it tastes very fresh. Good value and only £8+ for wine. Friendly staff too. Menu and location here.
