I'm surprised with the three claims that you have found a premium cheaper than last year.

Have you entered the three claims as all being "fault" claims as this is how they need to be declared.

How much no claims bonus have you declared to the new Insurer

i often come across quotes peopel have done online where claims were paid out by their own insurer but as they dont think its their fault they list it as non fault - not to mention then listing wrong amounts of ncd

This is what I suspect they may have done, there is a massive amount of difference to an Insurer between three fault claims and two non fault claims and one non fault claim, thats without taking into account what if any no claims bonus they will allow

    Hello 123lins123

I would strongly suggest you check the policy directly if you have used a comparison site.
We recently used a comparison site that passed on our information incorrectly.
They asked if we had access to other vehicles to which we said yes as we have several motorbikes. We got quotes for policies saying we had access to other cars which was incorrect.
Luckily we read the details and didn't accept the quote, but they certainly can mis-interpret your information.
If you don't use a broker then it's entirely your responsibility to make sure this info is correct and not a defence to say the comparison site messed it up.
    You must check your policy.

    Hope that helps.

@ dunstonh, M&S aint got nowt to do with Sheilas Wheels!! esure underwrite Sheilas, First Alternative, Sainsburys, Halifax and obviously esure. And none of them will touch it with a barge pole. Bad risk She says she got it cheaper she probably recorded the claims as 2 Fault and one non fault which is incorrect. 3 fault claims in all. If she has an accident with her new insurer they may void policy after checking CUE.

@ lisyloo...... "We got quotes for policies saying we had access to other cars which was incorrect." Irrespective that you answered yes you have access to other vehicle. Bet all it said on the final quote was Driving Other Cars - Yes..... Which is standard for all fully comp policies if policyholder is 25 or over and is not in motor trade. Does not mean you do drive other cars just means you have third party only cover to drive another car.

Fair enough about M&S. That must have been a mistake on the quote portal I used as it had esure in brackets under M&S to indicate a link. I think RAC had it as well.

Not any more it isn't. A number of insurers don't offer it these days full stop. You should probably do a little more research as the majority of your posts seem to be wrong

As DOC has nothing to do with access to other vehicles you've also mis read Lisyloo's post. (Remind me never to insure with any of the companies that you clearly work for )

Lisyloo, I've experienced this too. You are often asked on comparison sites if you have use of other vehicles which is interpreted by insurers as cars rather than motorbikes. They don't give an option to talk about bikes, which is really frustrating.
I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair
  • with regards to motorbikes it is actually worth getting the quotes from comparison sites and then phoning up. some of them do take it into account BUT you have to actually speak to someone (which mucks up using quidco!!)
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:

  • I can entirely sympathise... Sheila's Wheels are dreadful.

Lousy customer service, dreadful adverts, and some of the stroppiest snottiest advisors I've ever had the misfortune to speak to.

I unfortunately had to make two claims on my insurance policy.

The first was when an 'access cover' in the road hadn't been replaced correctly by the local water company, and it flipped up and wrecked my tyre and my alloy wheel. The water company were very good and extremely gracious and apologetic and fully reimbursed myself and Sheila's Wheels.

The second was when another vehicle ran into the side of my car on a roundabout. (The complete cuckoo decided she was going to go all the way around the roundabout in the wrong lane). Sheila's Wheels went 50/50 on the claim (although I argued tooth and nail that it wasn't my fault, and I was willing to go to court). I was told that it was ambiguous, and that it was policy to go 50/50, and they would not take it to court no matter how much I protested.

So, I thought ok... my premuim will probably go up a little... maybe a couple of hundred or so... maybe a little more due to rising insurance costs.

Sheila's wheel's sent me my renewal quote.... A staggering £1100 more than the previous year!

And that's with my seven years NCB (protected)!

Honestly, they shouldn't wear sparkly pink dresses in their ads, it should be a mask and a stripey jumper.

I, obviously, have not renewed with them, and found a much more reasonable quote from another insurer.

It's a blatant case of sending out a ridiculous quote just to make sure you take your business elsewhere. Needless to say I'll be cancelling my home insurance with them, and taking that business elsewhere too.
