Help needed - Samsung Jet Vodaphone v Orange

Hi,
Apologise in advance if I'm being stupid!!!
BF is on vodaphone contract Anytime 75 mins, no texts - £19.52. a month, but we don't get a signal at home (!!!), so he dosent use it much and the average bill is £24 (texts etc).
I want him to move to Orange, as I get good coverage at home on my PAYG.
His contract is up for renewal and he wants to get a Samsung Jet. He can get it free as an upgrade on the contract he is on.
I've found several options on Orange, but they cost more.
What we're trying to decide is: is it worth paying a bit more for the Orange contract, but we can then use it more, people can phone us on it at home etc.
Or should we stay on the lower cost Vodaphone and only use it when we are out?
I know it sounds stupid, but I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this, as I'm going round in circles trying to decide what to do for the best (and the best value for money)
Thanks for any thoughts or advice you can give....

Seems pointless to have a phone that you can't use...
I've just ordered a Jet on Vodafone. Was on O2 and did look at Orange, 3, etc however I know they don't work at the office so Quidco helped me decide to move to Vodafone...0 -
Seems pointless to get a phone he can't use half the time!Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Hi Carrotcruncher
You can have your cake and eat it! (I find this is always the best option when cake is involved! :grinheart)
Check out our Vodafone Access Gateway.
This allows you to get a 3G signal at home by using your home broadband.
That way you can have the plan you want with Vodafone, the gorgeous Jet - and have a signal!
Have a great weekend.
