Really Stupid .......but
We moved into our house nearly 3 years ago (new build) and are registered for water, via water meter with united utilities, electric with Powergen.......but never registered for Gas - i stupidly thought we were with Powergen for both as in dual fuel - but after ringing then found we only pay them for our electric......ive checked on the gas meter as advised and got a number to ring who will then tell us who supplys our gas but im really worried as its going to be astronimical and we also may get in trouble for our mistake?? any advice please??

I did some very rough calc based on the reported or myestiamtes of BG quarterly settlement by chq tariffs over the period you mention ans ir seems tha if you use an average amount of gas 19000kWh yearly you may owe around £1400. If you search through the psots of March and April you will find the advise fiven to someone for whom a similar situation arose. It's alte tonight but I'll try to find time to trawl thro; tomorrow and post the links0
