front brake pads
Hi every1
just has the front brake pads changed on my car about 1 month ago and every since then when I brake there seems to be a grinding noise, the steering also feels a bit heavier. Is this normal while the new pads bed in or should I return to the garage to have it checked out?
thanks

Brakes could well sound/feel different with new pads but normally it's less grinding and braking feel until they bed in. I'm struggling to see how it could affect the steering though.
Wouldn't do any harm to get it checked0 -
Steering heavier = power steering problem or under-inflated tyres.0

had the work done at kwik fit, should they check it for free or should I have to pay?0 -
They would have let the tyres down to make you go back for puncture repairs. As you will have driven round with soft tyres for ten days the tyres will be "dangerously worn and need replacing..." according to KwikShit.
so you'll end up buying 4 tyres from them, some shockers, a spring, piece of exhaust - possibly the cat. But they will top the aircon up for free...0 -
They will let you put it on a kwikfit card though.0
