How to avoid being identified through user name?

Options
Hi, hope this doesn't sound too stupid, but can I join under a new member name to post one thread?

I've had exceptional service from a company and would like to praise them on this site. Problem is that anyone I've dealt with in the company who reads the forum posting could identify me from my user name and I would feel that all past and future postings from me would be identifiable.

I realise I may open myself to allegations of spam when posting praise in a first post, but this seems the only way round it.

Any ideas?

Why not just say what you want to, as yourself?
A new account just to post praise is darn close to spam!

Sorry Prowla. I obviously didn't make myself clear in the first post. Those working in the company, a local company, will be able to match my name to my Moneysavingexpert user name, thus destroying any privacy in past or future posts by me.

I certainly don't like the tone of your post as I have never been involved in any kind of spam and simply felt that the good service I had received deserved a mention, but I am not prepared to compromise my privacy by doing so.

Yes. Just do it. Whose to stop you?

I cannot remember the process on here, but if you need to use an e-mail address to confirm, simply make a new free e-mail account with say Yahoo! or Hotmail for example, and then just use that once to 'join'.

    .
Don't think that's fair Be Happy, Prowla was only pointing out that as a 'new' poster whose first post is to praise a company, you will be viewed as a spammer.

I appreciate that's not your intent, but that's what will happen.

I am intrigued as to how they would be able to identify you - are you their only customer?

Well then, now that the OP has posted this thread in here, any newbies praising a company will be likely to be matched to ... yep you guessed. ;)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

If you are praising them, then what is the problem?

If you were slagging them off, then I could (maybe) see an issue.
