Unexpected surprise from Vodafone
As some of you may or may not be aware from my various posts in the Vodafone complaints/retentions thread, with the exception of Lee, I encountered some terrible service from Vodafone, including being illegally signed up for a contract.
I was not offered anything worthwhile to stay via upgrade or retentions (infact, deals that were pretty poor), and it was yesterday that I ordered my PAC code to take up a deal with my other Orange contract (it had to be one or the other).
I subsequently accepted a deal yesterday for a free HTC HERO on an 18 month contract with orange (24.46ppm, 1200 xnet mins, unltd texts and mobile internet).
Enter today. Vodafone retentions called me to enquire about the reason for my PAC code request, whereby I explained AGAIN that it was a mixture of appauling experiences and a sub par upgrade offer.
I was asked what would make me stay, and reiterated the deal I was offered by Orange.
I was then offered an N97 for free on an 18 month contract. 34.47ppm, 1200xnet mins, unlimited texts, unlimited landline calls, unlimited mobile internet. Fantastic deal (if it is indeed not a falsity) I thought, and would have snapped it up in a heart beat were I offered this any earlier. But I had already accepted Oranges offer, which I can still cancel, but wont as I cannot justify having to spend 180 pound more to have the N97, when I can get a slicker phone for less.

Try to imagine nothing ever existed...

Hi I'm looking for a similar deal on the HTC Hero myself and was wondering where did you get the deal.
