Using Orange phone in Turkey

Hi

Am off to Turkey on Sunday, I have an Orange (locked) mobile, please can someone tell me how I can get cheap calls to a UK mobile during my time away? As Orange costs are huge :eek:.

I'm afraid you are probably stuck with Orange, as you said your phone is locked.
I usually have only 1 option in this case. To get the phone unlocked and use a different UK sim card with cheaper rates/or even a local sim card.
Might be an idea to give Orange a bell, to see if they can do anything for you.

I did call Orange and got a 30% discount but that's still steep £1 a min to call, I was hoping one of Martin's ideas such as Rebtel would work but seems flawed.

Took my orange phone with me 4 weeks ago mainly for texts (40p) ringing the uk was £1.30 a min if I remember right, just get a phome card over there £4 and use it in their phone kiosks after 9pm and it worked out for me at about 8p per min
