o2 upgrade phone number

Well its that time of year when Im due to upgrade my mobile. Phoned the number from the website for CS- an automated message told me to ring 08706007102. I followed the instructions- hung on for 3 minutes then another automated voice told me that it was Venturer customer services and the number has changed.

Help!!! Has anyone got the correct number?

some providers (eg CPW) have their separate CS numbers, but I'd try calling 100 free and ask to be put through
  • Don't ring the 0870 number, there's a freephone no that I used last week for upgrades, retentions, disconnections etc, 0800 0288151.
    Got it from <<<< https://www.saynoto0870.co.uk >>>>

    hope this helps

Get a new deal with a different provider through http://www.reestitmutton.co.uk/index.php and port your number.

Was just about to say the same thing! I rarely recommend the upgrade route - the deal is pretty much always sweeter for a new customer.

O2 is my network of choice as well so if you want to stay with them you'll have to port your number onto a PAYG SIM on another network and then back onto O2. Worth the hassle though!

Can an O2 number not be ported to another O2 sim?

Unfortunately not. You could transfer a contract number onto an O2 PAYG SIM but this could not then be ported to another O2 contract.

would be about 18 months now since i had an o2 contract, but i was having a lot of hassle at one time and got given a freephone no 0800 0855667 for the o2 upgrade centre not sure if it still works

As unusual as it may sound, coming from someone who maintains a website that earns income from selling new contracts, it can sometimes be worth pushing the service provider for a discount on your existing tariff along with the best handset you can get for free as it's not always that much more expensive than getting a new contract with oodles of cashback and at least you don't have to remember to claim all the cashback.

For the privilege of avoiding the risk and inconvenience inherent in all cashback deals I would usually be prepared to pay, say, up to £100 more over the term of the contract extension. If you can't get your service provider to come close enough to the cost of a new contract, then that's the time to jump ship and start an entirely new contract in my mind.

It may not have crossed many people's minds yet but the deals listed on my site can also prove to be very useful as alternative options to quote to the service provider when negotiating a renewal deal.
