Nokia 6230i

I am about to go into a 12 month contract and am thinking of getting the nokia 6230i handset.

However heard that this has a terrible battery life - anyone ou there got this handset and can give me information on it please.

Other options are the D500 or K750i.

I have just changed my 6230 (not an i - don't know if it makes a difference) and the battery was fine, a charge lasted 4-5 days. But then I'm not a business user, I use my phone for about 150mins per month and 200 texts.
I've now got a Nokia N70 and the battery itself is the same as in the 6230.

Thanks, yes that helps BTW - did you like the 6230?

I'm pretty sure it's the same battery in the 'i'. Always had a nokia so will go for the 6230i.

K750i has the best battery life ~ 9 hour of talk time among D500, K750i & 6230; which is about double of 6230i (3~5 hour talk time). Plus you get a better camera

9 hours sounds good, although I'm not a heavy user so guess the 3-5 on the nokia would be enough.

Not bothered about the camera element of the phone, some people have commented that the Sony has software problems and can just freeze up.

I guess at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference - so I'll toss a coin and decide!!

I had a Nokia 6230i on orange and the battery was ok to start with and then got worse as the phone got older.

I use my phone a lot during the day for calls and in the evenings and after about 8 months had to get orange to supply me with a new battery.

I have now got the N70. My other has a D500 and her battery life is much better than my old 6230i

I'm interested - what makes you say that, have you used both phones?

As I'm not interested in camera or MP3 player then I would have thought the nokia would come out on top - although I honestly don't know!

Hi, I just have k750i but one of my friend has a 6230i. And here are some comparation.
1. the screen: 6230i: 1.67" 65k!!!unbelievable colour TFT 208×208
k750i:1.8" 260k colour TFT 176×220
so, k750>6230
2. the battery life: k750 much longer than 6230, at least 50% longer.
3. the camera: 2M>1.3M
4. the audio and video player functions. k750>6230
5. the writing or reading speed for the memory card in 6230 was incredible slow.
6. functions for fun, k750 more than 6230.

and for other functions I can't say which one is better, but i prefer k750i. and I thing k750 looks better then 6230i , oh, dust easily runs into the screen, both of them.

Went and looked at both handsets today and for I thinnk I'd probably go with the Nokia - only because it was easier to use. The 750i seemed to involve too many steps to get back to the main menu when you made a mistake - the "c" key didn't seem to do anything - probably user error, but I think it would try my patience too much!

press the "return" button for a while, you will find what you want. the "c" key just for delete. yep, many people say that nokia is easier to use. but I think there is not so many differences just for making a call or sending message~
