Nokia 7600 confusion

My 3 contract has expired and I want to use an o2 sim, but I think 3 have had enough of my cash.

Anyone out there who can help please, I've looked around on some other posts on mSE but reamain clueless, phones aint my bag baby

i got one of these phones and it was very simple to un lock. My now accepts any payg sim card.

Browntoa helped me out with this, he sent me the unlock codes. Maybe you should pm him or one of the other mobile unlockers

IMEI should be 15 digits.

Take out your SIM-card, press *#06# and the IMEI should come up.

yeah the phone can be unlocked and if I read it corectly you can also get nokia to send you settings for o2 etc to use the real wap.

Just remember 3 network removed the menu option to lock the phone to a 2G signal so even if unlocked with code you may find that the signal will drop in some areas as the phone will try to lock to a 3G signal....Best way is to get it unlocked by cable and get the person unlocking it to enable the missing menu so it can be locked to 2G...If you take this option, make sure you back up your pictures as the enabling of the missing menu will wipe the phone

As rogerramjet said get it done by cable,you may find coverage very poor until its had the 2g menu enabled.

with regards to the 2g signal. I have one of these nokia's. It was unlocked without a cable, and I haven't had signal problems yet :j

yes. I think the majority of nokia 7600s are/were on 3.
