I know someone here will know how to get the smell out of pickle jar lids. been given huge ones for storing and cant seen to get the smell away. Any ideas peoples please.?0

I would try steradent but in past experience it's near impossible. It's the vinegar smell, so hard to shift.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0

some good suggestions there, have tryed so far sprinking bicarb but only left it for an hour or so. Bleach, and throwing in machine with my washing. Will have a go at some today. What is a chlorine tablet?0

try water in a pyrex dish, lemon juice and chuck the lemon in there too, boil the kettle and just let them sit for a few hours. lemons are brilliant for getting the smells out. I used it when I saved some pasta sauce jars as I wanted to make some jam's and I couldn't get the smell out so used a lemon. x

It's near on impossible which is why they recommend you don't put HM jam in them but make chutney and put that in them instead...Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

Insulate front door
Bubble wrap windows & french door
Wash front door curtain
Blind for the bathroom
Find wrist warmers & the wool socks!
Wash heated throws
Wash duvet & wool blankets
Buy vest tops to go under clothes and PJs
Buy nets for bathroom and kitchen
