Hello

Im hoping for some advice.

I am current in a contract with Vodafone for my mobile phone.

I was wondering if anyone knew of anyway that you can get out of a contract early with no penalty?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

No, you need to pay off the contract.

If you claim financial hardship, ie you were recently made redundant, or you simply don't have the money to pay them you might be able to downgrade during your contract to the bare minimum tariff, then with enough convincing you can get them to apply a £10 goodwill gesture credit, but that's really the limit.

As a student with no summer job (still searching!) I managed to convince Tmoby to first apply the goodwill, but that was still too expensive for me, and managed to get them to downgrade me from a combi 30 (£25 a month) to a rolling £10 a month contract (Solo 10), but that took FOREVER. Nearly 6 physical hours of being on the phone before a) they understood me and what I was after, and b) to argue with them to carry it out.

Since then, I was lent a small sum to cover my line rental for the next 2 months till upgrade so I phoned them up, and they reinstated it to combi 30 within an hour! And they retained my 2 month limit, so I guess thumbs up Tmoby for being understanding. let's hope the upgrade is as good.

However, I wouldn't recommend it just because you're after a new phone or have seen a nice new contract - only do it if you're finding it difficult to keep the repayments. I'd also had about 5 months previous of late payments (only ever a few days, max a week) due to cash flow - student loan!

    Hi keb844

There isn't a way to leave your contract without paying for it.

If you are having difficulty with the amount you pay or your plan is no longer working for you, I'm more than happy to see if there are other options open to you.

Send me an email from the Contact Us form with a link to this thread, all the details and WRT135 in the body of the text and I'll get back to you.

    Speak to you soon.
