  • Haha that's what always worries me - I used to have loads of charges when I lived in Newcastle. Anyway I went out and joined the library today so at least have made the effort.

Been a bit naughty this week and had a few lunches at work instead of bringing my own, on the plus side I havent spent anything on groceries though so I suppose it balances out. Also spent £24 in Boots which I didn't mean to do -I strayed in to buy some mini shampoos for my holiday and came out with a few extras. In my defence I had a £5 No7 voucher and I got a free set of eyeshadows from them which is fab.

Been and done my second mystery shop of the week -this one was a £45 one so fingers crossed they like my results and I get paid.

Supposed to be packing for holidays tomorrow but find I am less excited now I have heard it is raining where we are going!!! Really hoping it stops because we so deserve a holiday and it will be ruined if it's not sunny :-(

  • Added some more books to GM. Sent off the one I sold. I now have 95 listed. Surely this gives me more chance of selling?!!!!!

  • Oops I need to keep off GM. Just spent my profits on a rare book I'd been waiting for which I just spotted.... now at £2.25 instead of £6...eeekk!

  • I am seriously impressed that you have 100 books on GM, I could never be that ruthless with my collection!

Dont feel bad about spending the profits, just think of it as a free book, you traded in a few you didnt want for one you did,

  • Ha I like you're thinking CaroleM. Just got back from hols and have sold 2 more so the fund is definitely increasing. My book arrived so looking forward to reading that - it's by one of my favourite authors and her stuff isn't in print anymore so justified I think.

Holidays meant much unjustified spending so a little re-setting of the budget is needed I think. Will update later when I have more time!

  • Who's the author? anyone I will have heard of?

  • Possibly as she has a couple of new books out - which you can get -it's just her old ones which are hard to find - her name is Scarlett Thomas - her new book is The End of Mr Y - which is fabulous (as are the rest). Just added all the books I read on holiday to GM -hoping they will be snapped up as some are those airport editions which aren't yet out in paperback. Fingers crossed anyway.

I keep all my 'special' books - just sell the cheap reads and ones I know I won't read again. Ideally I would keep them all and have a vast library but needs must to reduce the debt! (and have some space in my house!!).

  • Sold another two books tonight on GM, and got a £2 coin today but then got home and have annoying letter from debt collection agency saying I owe BT £53 !!!I have a sneaking suspicion I had the same letter a few months ago from Westcot and I phoned and told them it's not my debt and they sent me a confirmation letter...going to have to look into it tomorrow. Too tired now to think about it!

  • Sounds like they are just fishing then - cheeky so and so's!

Well done on the book sales, I think i need to list a few more on GM, its all gone a bit quiet for me. Will keep my eyes peeled for Mr Y too, tho I will probably wait till I can get it second hand.
