thought I'd post here - hoping to understand the techie side of it...
Recent spate of PPRed peeps coming back as AE's
Is there a sensible (i.e economic) way of stopping this?

There is no way that I know that can stop them, even if they have their IP locked and its static they can still get past with a proxy.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

The rules state that anyone under a PPR ban will also have their aliases banned under the same rule...............
It's a shame that this site has had to come to this, but if the team has had to make this (very difficult) decision, then fair play to them that they follow up this with a ban on any aliases that may follow a ban.
I feel that it's a real shame on certain members that they felt they could push the team so far that they had to make this decision.
We do NOT own this site. We can post here because Martin wants to have an open forum on ways to save money and also give us the chance for an open discussion.
When members forget why we are here and start taking the pee.........Then don't be surprised when the rules are enforced. They are made clear to us all at the beginning. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I don't think !!!! is arguing with being banned.....................it seems to me they will go away if all their posts are deleted, isn't copyright covered too then................when do our typed words no longer become ours to delete?
after a certain lenght of time or can they be requested to delete at any time....................interesting idea0 -
But why is it a Taboo subject when BGs bullie Members and all Abuse do is ban the Bullied Member, I suppose its easier that way, I mean the MSE rug must be so bumpy by now.
This isnt at any particular guide, its my personnel situation0 -
***Board Guide Note***
Sorry
Have just deleted a post and asked the Forum Team to keep an eye on this thread.
Please do not discuss ways to avoid an MSE ban/PPR
thanks0 -

Seeing as Martin will come under the ultimate responsibilty concerning copyright of what's posted (or published if you like). Don't you think he and the team have a responsilbility of what's posted here? They ask all of us to report posts that may not follow the rules (as they say.....they can't check every post).............
Martin has made posts in the past that it would be his absolute last resort to ban members if needs be. He has made more than one post himself that has stated his displeasure with the way things have gone on. I feel sorry that some members have decided to ignore him, and seemed to have a feeling that they were more important on this site than they were.
Why should the team cause more work than they need by trawling through a members posts and deleting them all, when all they need to do is ban the member causing trouble? How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Here we go again, a "let's all bash the Board Guides" thread.....
For the umpteenth time:
If you see any form of abuse by ANY member (including BGs) then it should be reported to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com so they can deal with it.0 -

ermmmmmmmmmmmmm did I say they shouldand as I said earlier,IMO !!!! isn't questioning being banned so I've answered the rest of your post already
and unfortunately just banning them clearly isn't working
Bridiej,one post doesn't make a BG bashing thread0 -
