Quality set of kitchen knives

I'm currently awaiting delivery of a Robert Welch set from John Lewis (birthday present from parents, last year & christmas' were various Circulon pans) - held them in the shop and they felt really good in the hand (were sold out though so had to order ). Will update when they arrive as to how they perform!

I use Global - once I got my first one (G2) I've never bought another brand.

Costco currently have a great deal on a set of Global knives in a block for about £160.

I've got 3 Henkels knives.

I would recommend using a steel rather than a knife sharpener, but that is just my choice.

Personal preference is anything that the handle is crafted from the same continuous piece of steel as the blade... but im funny over handles, paranoid about bacteria getting in the tiny gaps where handles meet blade.. same with knives and forks
