Dorset reclaim is a good idea - and I'm on WTC until my new job starts....washing machines start from £50 with £15 delivery. I'd then need it installing (it isn't a straight plug in job, the wire goes into the wall into a kind of plate with a switch in it) so I'm guessing another £40 - £50 for that.....up to £115 at a minimum, depending on the washing machine price and there's no kind of guarantee with it........

BB, why would the machine need to wired into the wall? It should be a straightforward supply to the machine so could be fitted with a plug.
If your only connection point is a fused box in the wall its only a case of taking the front off and connecting ( with the power off! ). Yes I know that Regs say you are supposed to fork out for a Qualified Electrician, but:D stay wonky
