Barclaycard CCA's - How are people getting on?

Think I spoke too soon----rang Bc for a progres report and got through to someone who said they were 'waiting for a response' from me ie the letter from an office in the North East re my Section 75 letter. Three people I spoke to disclaimed all knowledge of what SARs were
Have now given them until August 28-wy outside the 40 day limit to cough up the information. I don;t think they have any intention of doing so. They also haven;t signed for any of my letters. Challenged Royal Mail re this (I had paid for the service after all )-fatal error 6 of today. What did I expect ?(maybe the service I paid for ?) I note that others have complained of exactly the same. Maybe I'm a cynical old bag, but if there are people on these forums from diferent parts of the country with very similar complaints, sounds like a deliberate corporate policy to me
If anyone's interested will update on August 280 -
hi would just like to post that i requested a sar from BC and all i got back was statements dated back to aug 2007,nothing else, diddly squat apart from a covering note saying that was all the info on that account???total waste of £10.:mad:0

I've had two dealings with Barclaycard - the first related to a B/Card account for which they could not produce a valid CCA. They sold this on and the account has been with three different DCA's all of whom cannot produce a CCA which isn't suprising as B/Card do not appear to have one. All has been quiet on this for 2 years.
The second reltaes to a former Goldfish account they have taken over. I have not received a CCA but a letter stating that by supplying a copy of the terms & conditions and monthly statements they have fufilled their obligations under the CC Act 1974 which they clearly haven't.0 -
Morning all, I have this morning after putting Barclaycard into DEFAULT (they sent me generic T&C's like the rest of you ), a 3 page legalese letter........... Will need to find a suitable response.............oh yes....... still in default:rolleyes:
Has anyone else been sent this letter
Along the lines of:
you were dissatified with the documents we supplied........
How does the act define an executed agreement.......
What do the rules say about providing a copy..........
What happens if the original agreement has been varied since it was originally signed...
ETc.
If so what did you send as a response?LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
Left for life Down Under 4th August 2012 - living frugally and have learned my lessons :j:j:j:j0 -
Sorry guys havent been able to log on for a few days....Interesting developments for people tho.
Gargrave have PMd you and eira and T Boor it will be interesting to see what responses you get!
Good luck everyone0 -
I didn't get the response so have now complained to the banking Ombudsman and the Information Commissioner. i have the distinct impression that mine is one of many complaints re Barclaycard. if this is so why don't they do something about it. from what I've read Barclaycard don't respond to them either. is there anyone recording the number of complaints. If you trawl this forum and others there are several people with virtually identical complaints-this argues either gross incompetence or deliberate company policy
Will keep you posted0 -
Yeah am sure there are loads of people in same boat which does strike you as being bad, when this forum probably represents a very small portion of the amount of BC customers....
Will be interesting to see what Ombudsman and IC say? Although FO was no use to me about it....0 -
Am losing my sanity !!! Got a letter this morning from BC asking for yet more money- after which they will comply with the SAR -they have already been paid and have had a letter confirming this. They are way over the 40 days- I tried ringing the number on the letter to be told by an automated voice that the 'there were technical difficulties' and was cut off.then tried another number and was put through to another department that 'was closed'.
At this stage am very tempted to stop paying and see if that will smoke out a response. I honestly think they have lost my files-the only information they gave me were 'statements' . The statements read
Closing balance of last statement £
CHRGOFF PRCH PRINC BALM April 5 (this was April 26 2007)
Total new transactions £
CR
Have had letters from 4 different debt collectors since then for accounts that just weren't mine. Then there was the letter from Lowells saying that BC hadn't provided information on one account and that had been written off as a 'commercial decision'. I cancelled the DD on that account as it was going to BC who said they were sending the money to Lowell.
I am still paying off a Masterloan with which I have no issues-clear statements, copy of the agreement etc and it's nearly paid off, but the credit card issues are a nightmare. as said have complained to the Ombudsman etc but reading other forums BC don't listen to them either. What is it with them ? As I've said many times this was a Section 75 issue and I don't owe them a bean in my book. The company that scammed me is back in the Uk and has already gone 'bankrupt' twice in the last 18 months.
Any advice -especially in translating those statements -would be met with immeasurable gratitude.0 -
Think I am now officially losing the plot. Have had another letter asking for £10 for SAR-they;ve already chashed the cheque and are outside the 40 day limit
Rang up (breaking my own rule!) and got- passed on/cut off/can't help from 3 phone numbers. Rang yesterday and it's moved on from the department with the human being to 'Recoveries and Legal'. Got what sounded like a human being with a first and last name who kep repeating 'What do you want/how can I help' this was in response to the request for a) a response to my SAR b)what was happening regarding the progress on the request. That was literally the response over and over again-like a broken record !!!!! I told him about the IC and BO and it was accepted as read-totally surreal.
If it wasn't for others experience I would seriously question my sanity. Barclays were also featured in the financial pages this Sunday for a variation on the theme
Anyone who can help with my previous post-would be very grateful. I note that these 'statements' are a standard BC response0 -
FLipping eck Eira, no wonder you're going crazy, calling is obviously pointless, maybe you'll have to write another letter enclosing a copy of the cheque stub and your bank statement with everything else blanked off and ask what they playing at? Or just report it to whoever it is you report it to? Am useless with SAR so cant really help am afraid.
I dont understand those code things either but I have def seen posts explaining them from other lenders. I need to send my follow on letter to them, but me and my OH split up last week and my head has/is more than a little full....0
