Couldn't agree more-it's the incompetence combined with the bullying that really gets to me. Even if you deal strictly in writing you can lay the letters out (as I did yesterday) and it's still a trail of misrepresentation and conflicting information
  • Definitely Eira, my paper trail is shocking, and I feel glad that I have this place to help me make sense of it all, I really feel for those that don't and dread to think how many people are pressurised cos they dont know any other way or think that what these companies do is legitimate cos they are big companies....

Got a letter from BC this morning-they want £10 to process the request (I've paid them !) this was a repsonse to a Letter before Action. Also enclosed was a compliments slip-hand written-no name on it-asking for £10 for EACH account !!!!!!!!!

The temptation to scream down the phone is overwhelming.Am now convinced this is deliberate delaying tactics which is part of corporate policy. I should add that one of the accounts is the one cancelled by Lowells as BC couldn't produce the documentation

    Hi Eira and blue,

Sending off next step letter to say account formally in dispute, as I have received nothing further other than T&C's. They said they would be sending a copy of my CCA...... nothing yet. If they produce an application form or what the credit agreement might have looked like, then I'll pay for SAR.

Spoke to the Information Commissioner's office. The £10 fee is per request not per account provided the request is made at the same time-so BC are in the wrong (again) Am now going to send another letter reminding them taht their time is running out. The IC suggested I give them a specific date after which I just go straight to them for non-compliance. Going on various forums I now have the strong impression this is deliberate-too many people with very similiar stories to be a coincidens

Rang BC for a fax number-got put through to a dept I'd never heard of before but the person I spoke to was polite/professional and prepared to listen. that's the furthest I've got in 12 years. She gave me a fax number and asked for the letters I'd originally sent so they could try and track it through the system. I was expecting war and got a sensible human answer-a total first !!!!

That is a first - i doubted Barclaycard employed these kind of people. How did she slip through the net?!

God knows -but she was a definite cut above the usual-whether this works or not is another issue. Just off to fax these letters through-wonder if it'll work. All that's left of the Bc debt is this amount I reckon I don't owe anyway

morning, I've been a reader of this site for ages but never posted, however, BC are so annoying I thought I'd chip in. I've 2 CC's with BC and have requested CCAs numerous times. Obviously they have only sent a generic T&C copy claiming this covers the request.
I finally got a letter from them saying they had fulfilled their obligations and would cease corresponding on the matter.
Plain scare tactics by them, if they have the CCA they will send it to you. I sent another letter yesterday reiterating the fact that i had previously placed the account into dispute (all letters sent recorded delivery) and that i was reporting them to the Ombudsman and would happily resolve in court. Complaint sent to Ombudsman yesterday including all info.
We'll wait and see what happens!
