shame you can't get the q-bot with the tesco vouchers. It seems it is Legoland's way of making more money, or getting money back from people who use discounts to get in!

but £10 isnt much of a spend, when you factor in that entry hasnt cost you anything. Its a business, prices are high enough already, without them having to put them up to cover the costs of all the lost revenue, from everyone using tesco vouchers

we have Merlin Passes through clubcard deals, and find that paying for fast-passes at other theme parks, is worth it, because in essence we havent paid for entry, so £10 to get on the rides without queueing is worth the expense. however the Q-bot system at legoland is not worth the money, all it is doing is standing in the queue for you, the Fast Pass system most other parks offer is a designated time, which means you know what rides you can get on, and when

The agreement with Tesco for the vouchers must be a good one otherwise they wouldn't do it, as you say it is a business, and Legoland aren't silly, so I don't think they can be losing that much revenue through Tesco vouchers.

It would actually be interesting to know how the relationship works between them.

You could also look at it another way, in the fact that some people might actually go to Legoland where they might have not done beforehand, because they can use Tesco vouchers, and then spend on drinks, ice cream, meals, etc.

Can someone on here describe the bottles you can buy and get free refills? Just wondering if they are the same as the alton towers ones?

they are different to the alton towers ones, they have legoland pics on them!!

They are different to the Alton Towers ones (which are used at Warwick Castle, Chessington and Thorpe Park) so you cannot get away with taking your cup along for another visit!

They are also 'date stamped', so again no good if you are there for a couple of days and want to use it again on the following day.

not sure the ins and outs of this one, but someone told me today that they went to the local tourist board near Legoland and were either 'given' or 'told' that tickets after 2.00 pm ish would be about £17.00 approximately.

Sorry it is all a bit vague, but perhaps someone who lives near by could check this one out?
  • if you stayed over when visiying legoland, where did you stay. travelodge windsor has no parking and is £60 when we want to go. heathrow terminal 5 travelodge has car parking and is £29. any info on these or better options?

We stayed at the Sunningdale Devere Hotel at Ascot, which has parking and is about a 15-20 min drive from Legoland. We got a family room for £10 in the last sale (and they upgraded up to 2 interconnecting rooms for the £10 paid). It has a heated outdoor pool which is open Monday to Friday 7.30am to 7pm approx. Free tea and coffee points and nice grounds to walk around.

You could also look at the Slough or Windsor holiday inns. You can get 2for1 nights here (it does not end on the 31st August as stated, you will see if you check dates after). Slough or Slough/Windsor has parking (but have to pay).

we stay at Sunbury, Feltham, Bracknell or either of the Heston (heathrow) ones - all are about 1/2hr tops from legoland, but these ones tend to have more of the cheap rooms available

Feltham and Bracknell are best for places to eat out (both have a wetherspoons within 100yds, great for cheap breakfast), and the Feltham one also has an Asda next door, handy for getting together a picnic to take to Legoland
