Change of Orange Contract Terms & Conditions

Lots of people I know including myself who are on the Orange pay monthly plan have received a text message which reads,
"Hi from Orange. From 14 september we'll be changing the cost of some calls that are not included in your plan. See http: //orangeworld.co.uk/r/07/ for details"

One of my colleagues called Orange stating that this was a breach of contract and Orange agreed to cancell his contract and issue a PAC code within 7 day and he would only be charged his normal monthly bill. I tried this also and was told that they can change the cost of calls whenever they like and that they were only bringing their charges in line with other providers. Can anyone advise us if this is a breach of contract and therefore should they release our contracts without penalty.

Basically if you are on an animal package the change of t's & c's will effect you. When you receive a text advising of the changes. You are then able to terminate contract FOC. Orange can check your number and advise accordingly. Its all to do with minimum call charges going to 15p that take effect from September.
  • for help with the orange problem you seem to be having visit this website, helped me to get out of my contract which i got in july and cancelled 19th sept!

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
  • are people still able to cancel now as of Sept or has it been stopped? cos someone in another post said they scrapped the price hike cos so many people complained?

Orange cancelled the change so there are now no grounds to end a contact.

Its not the sort of thing they give advanced notice of, they just send text everyone (in the case above) 28 days before the change was due to come into force...

Where did you hear about that? There is a member of the forums who works for orange and so many people kicked off about the changes they scrapped them, so i doubt they will be heavily broadcasting any changes to T&Cs
