Try these https://www.touregyptforums.com this is the Cairo page https://www.touregypt.net/cairo/
I seem to remeber the cost was about 15pp into the Pyramid but cant think if that was EG or £ the museum was a couple of quid but you did have to pay heavy for takign a camera in and DEFFINATLY no flash they are very strict on that.

    BTW
I wouldnt take the tours with TC they will only stop about 1/2 up on the plato about teh same down by the spnix then for 2 hours at the papyrus factory then 2 hours at the jewllery place (they earn the best commision on sales here) the you then get a 1 hour rushed tour of the museum.
Do your tours through your hotel and you get to say how long you want to sty in what place...And vist Sakara its a great tour.
And while your on the plato go and see the solar boat only a couple of quid in but worth it
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

We stayed at the Le Meridien Pyramids 2 weeks ago. Overall not a bad hotel though 2+2 children was a bit tight in the room. Prices are quite reasonable in the hotel and you can see the pyramids but you've got to get across the dual/triple/quadruple carriageway first! We took an organised tour all the time in Cairo and was worth it for what we saw and the food we eat.

Admission prices to the Museum, Memphis, Giza Pyramids, Saqqara and Citadel were between GBP£3.50 and GBP£5.00 per person. Not sure on actual admission to the Great Pyramid as we didn't bother.

PS Don't let the armed guards, metal detectors and sniffer dogs at the hotel alarm you.

If you get a cab from one sited at your hotel and tell the driver the things you want to do you will get a good deal and might well see things an organised tour would not . When we were last there we found the egyptians are wonderful and take great pride in their lovely capital and are pleased to make sure you don't get ripped off. I would rather arrange matters through an Egyptian taxi driver than through a tour operator. Make sure you go to the 'Egyptian Experience'. Especially if you've got kids with you. You go on a boat through Papyrus beds and different scenes are acted out in front of you as the boat goes by. You'll have a lovely time.

    Hi Black-Saturn

TC are a total rip-off for tours like this. The Cairo Museum costs (at last check) 10 Egyptian to get in, which is approximately £1.00. A camera permit is another £1, and you should be able to find pretty good tours in there. Certainly as good as the ones TC are offering. A taxi there, even from the very edge of Cairo shouldn't be more than a fiver (English) unless you're being seriously ripped off.
Also, just get a taxi to the pyramids, or even the bus (goes from the train station I think) and then negotiate any stuff like camel rides etc.
And please!!! BARTER!!!!! Egyptians love it (and are very good at it), and it's insulting not to. Also, you should usually be able to halve if not divide in three any original offers, for anything from taxi rides, to tours etc. Ignore any complaints of dying children though!
Good luck, have a great time, lucky you!
:grin:If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you
