Phone screen spontaniously broke!

My girlfriend's phone's screen (samsung) has stopped turning on when she slides it up all the way, if she holds it midway slid up it turns on. She wants it repaired, she's on a t-mobile contract with 6 months remaining. She got it from the carphone warehouse and she's out of the 28 day warranty period.

Do the carphone warehouse have to do something about the phone as there is nothing physically wrong with the phone. It was not her fault that this happened - no water damage or anything like that.

Anything will help, thanks.

the phone will come with a manufacturers warranty which will be at least 12 or 24 months all you need to do is take it back to cpw they will repair it for free

Sorry the 12 month warranty has expired. I'm sure there's a buyers rights rule in which manufacturers have to do something about it when the phone breaks and it's not the customers fault.

IIRC Samsunk have a 24 month warranty!

Samsunk will send you IIRC an envelope to return it to them. They do sometimes augue that certain faults cannot arise out of faulty manufacturer and are not covered by the warranty. They tried that with me and I didn't buy it. I asked them to return the phone to me where I would seek a 2nd opinion. It came back repaired under warranty!

Maybe repairing it was not an issue as they had it in pieces anyway!

any samsung mobile phone purchased on or after 01/05/06 comes with a 24 month warranty period so cpw should still repair it for you
