    How old are your children?

    Do you work?

Do you have savings over £6000

(asked to help with the benefits entitlements)

Yes I work 16 hours just now but at the moment I am having discussions with my boss to up my hours as DS starts preschool next week. My son is only 3 and I def do not have savings of that amount

I think mediation would really be in your interests. If it focuses on the needs of your son (which presumably you and (ex) H can agree on) then I would be looking to approach the house issue from this angle. As you say it would be best for your son to stay in the same house so the best bet is to say this in a calm and supported environment. I would also say that you should probably try not to go too far in talking about specifics until you get to mediation just in case - sometimes issues can become a stick to beat each other with and then it's harder to find a good resolution.

    good luck!

You could claim WTC, CTC and 25% discount on your CT, you can also keep your child maintainance and it is not counted as income for TC.

If you did not want to continue working you could claim IS, CTB, CTC and help with the interest payments of your mortgage after 13 weeks. You can only keep £20 per week of your child maintainance.

I am not suggesting you give up work, just giving you your options.
