bollox. The ring with the sockets on just tripped. Flicked it back on and washing machine isn't working. Hopefully a fuse..........

Hope its okay BB. I had a similar worry the other day - turned WM on and left it to run. About 10 minutes later I hear a beeping I hadn't heard before. Traced it to WM and screen said 'E05' and it wouldn't do anything. I applied my extensive IT training and turned it off and turned it on again and it was fine;):p

god, men..........the 'plug ' for the washing machine is a built into the wall type - bit like an electric cooker switch. Sent a text to OH to ask him to bring some fuses to try and he has gone all 'superior'. When I bought the machine the day I moved here (5.5 years ago!!), he got all huffy because I'd bought a second hand machine (which has never broken down!) and I used a friend to fit it.

The guy from the electrical shop (known him donkeys years) wired the cable to this built in socket and now OH is saying 'well, I did say at the time that wasn't a good idea'.......yadda yadda...........it's a bleedin' fuse that needs changing, not an examination of his hurt male ego at the though that shock, horror, I used 'my guy' as he has just call him to plumb in a washing machine nearly 6 flippin years ago!!!

    Hi everyone.
BB hope you get your machine fixed.
Thanks to everyone for all your suggestions yesterday - was having a pretty rubbish day. Not up to anything today just waiting for Mr Tesco man. How exciting.
NSD was well and truly ruined as well with a takeaway - and they forgot my can of coke (which I only ordered to get the order above 10 pounds - grrr) and it wasn't terribly hot - never mind it was o.k and saved me from cooking.
Also got a big Tesco shop ordered.
Right off to have a mooch around here and have a look on some job websites before Mr T turns up.
    See you all later.

changed the fuse (took one from another plug) and it tripped the RCD instantly. Done a bit of reading and it seems incredibly common with washing machines and is possibly either a leak, water heater going or signs of motor failure.

    Bum.

Machine is full of water ................double bum.......
