Where does the oil disappear to?

If it's using excessive amounts of oil, it certainly is something to worry over.
Surely a typo ... or at least I hope it is!
1 litre of oil every 10k miles perhaps, but not 1 litre every 1000 miles.
See my previous post regarding how much oil should be used between service intervals. It's quite common for manufacturers to set service intervals as frequently as they do simply because of the amount of oil expected to be consumed, otherwise it could be a lot longer.
No typo, as I said it's a disclaimer. I also said I couldn't believe it either, so please don't get on my case:p
I once had a car that used a pint (1/2ltr) of oil per 2 weeks. OK but thats how often I filled it. Works out at 1/2 pint/400 miles, or about 1.3lt/1000miles. That engine was !!!!ed, just shows how "tolerant" the manfs are:mad:
and I don't think the op has defined excessive yet????I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

They can write what they like in an attempt at a disclaimer, but it would reflect extremely badly on the manufacturer.
I often drive in excess of 600 miles in a day and I certainly wouldn't expect to be topping up oil mid journey or more regularly than I needed to fill up with fuel!
I would also seriously wonder whether this would pass the test of reasonableness in a court regarding fit for purpose/quality, etc."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
