Unite don't charge for changing bank account details.

I think the OP is being purposely vague here as there is more to this than meets the eye.

.......Of course it is but that would get in the way of a good bank bashing post!

Well tell us the whole truth then. I am a member of Unite and have had cause to change the account number the DD came out recently - they did not charge me anything - in fact it was very easy to do.

No - I wont tell the whole truth. I will keep this conspiracy to myself and the other grey men :shhh:

I post facts, then some MUFC guy thinks I'm hiding details? Pathetic - I posted for advice and I get abuse, wow - such a great forum. You're knowledge is on a par with Martin Lewis'.

I recently switched to A&L and two of my direct debits "missed" the July payment and then took 2 months out in August. Nothing to do with what A&L did, just the way their systems worked. One of them sent a letter to inform me and the other one charged me a late fee (Virgin Media) but refunded it when I phoned them up.

Not quite sure what you are saying here - that my knowledge is better than the great Martin Lewis or that you think that he sucks - either way you should be barred from the site!
Anyway you are wrong and the bank were right so there.
