Advice on new Llods bank account has cost me from new DDIs!!

The misssus saw a banking adviser at Lloyds a couple of weeks a go - and he suggested setting up a new account just fir her direct debits, which he did.

Fair enough - but now at least 2 of the DDs have been double for this month due to a change in bank account from which the DDs are being taken.

Is Lloyds accountable for the incurred costs?

Lloyds TSB aren't accountable. The companies who you have DD's with (and you) are.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

How have they been double ? Duplicate DD's taken or are they variable DD's where the amount can change ? Did you cancel the old DD's ?

Impossible to say who's at fault with the very limited info supplied, but i'd suggest it's not Lloyds error.

It would appear that because the DDs are now coming from a different account they have applied a charge of an extra months payment because of the change. Thing is Lloyds advised the move with no mention of any potential costs

Never heard of that one before - charging an extra months payment because of a change of account - must be in the terms and conditions of whoever they set the D/D up with - which LTSB would have no knowledge of - but OP would as they signed the agreement!!
Why did OP not mention this to the bank to prevent this happening?

Why don't you name the company that has charged you for ammending the DD so we are all forewarned ?

Did Lloyds just set up DDs on the new account and omit to cancel the DDs on the old account?

In which case, just cancel them and get a refund, otherwise it'll happen every month.
