Raileasy don't post tickets unless the departure station doesn't have a machine. All others sites post tickets (usually for free).

Their site seems to give slightly different advise in different sections as well as the e-mail

    From the T&Cs

    1. You must use the same card to pick up your tickets that you used to buy them. You are given a "ticket collection reference" when you buy your tickets and you need to type that into the ticket delivery machines at your departure station but you also have to insert the card used to buy the tickets into the machine. The machine will not deliver the tickets without the card so
it is your responsibility to have the card used for booking in your possession when you pick up your tickets.

From the Ticket on Departure info

    Ticket Collection Reference Number
When you make a booking from a TOD departure point, you will be given a 8 digit/letter ticket collection reference number on the confirmation screen after you submit your booking. A copy will also be emailed to you. To collect your tickets, you MUST have the credit/debit card you used to make the booking. You put this into the ticket collection machine for identification purposes only and enter your ticket collection reference number.

    Problems
If you have problems with the ticket collection machines, the first thing you should do is go to a ticket window. The staff there will be able to retrieve your tickets but you MUST take your email confirmation or a copy of the confirmation screen.
If there is no one at the ticket office, please call 0906 20 20 002*
    * Calls cost £1/min from BT UK landlines. Costs from other networks and mobiles may vary.

    From the e-mail booking confirmation

Please remember you will need the credit card you used for the booking (just for identification purposes) to be able to collect your tickets from a self service ticket collection machine. You can collect your tickets from any ticket on departure/TOD station. Just put the credit card you used for the booking into the ticket collection machine and enter the 8 character ticket collection reference above.

If for any reason you won't have the credit/debit card used for the booking when collecting the tickets, please phone 0906 20 20 002 (at £1 per minute from BT UK landlines, costs from other networks and mobiles may vary), opening hours 0700 - 2200 (Mon - Sun). Depending on how much notice you give us, we might be able to send them by first class post/special delivery. If there isn't time, you will have to buy new tickets and we will refund you your original tickets less a £10 admin fee.

Although they all highlight that I will need the card it is only really clear from the e-mail booking confirmation that I would have to buy new tickets in the event that I didn't have my card on the day of travel.

so quite clearly they have told you no less then 5 times to have the right card for you to be able to pick up from the machine. now if your card had been cloned the information would probably have been the same so it should've let you print them out. You can also ask the booking office staff to call them to release the ticket for ANY CARD USE.

I work for a TOC and theres nothing more annoying then having people turn up cos their parent/partner/brother/grnadad has bought them a ticket and not read that they need the card. You WOULDNT do it for an airline so why the hell do you do it for a railway?

Some stations can actually print yoru ticket for you too - dont let them tell youo otherwise - but there are some that use a different system and are unable to do this if you turn up without the card.

This was all put in place because there was MASSIVE amounts of fraud when all the TOCs got their new shiny ticket machines in so given that you have been done already on youor card are you not happy that people have procedures in place to try and stop fraud?

also Raileasy along with trainline are just travel agents so therefore if you book with them and not the TOC directly then you have to abide by their T&CS. the TOC may be the one who you are travelling with but if you have a problem with a charter flight you dont go to the airline do you you go back to your travel agent. This is the same thing.

If you read my thread I am not compaining about the fact that I have to have the card I realise this was quite clear. I am complaining about the lack of flexability and the lack of clear information on what happens if I don't have the card with me.

Not working in the area you do this was the last thing on my mind when the bank called me to tell me my card was skimmed!

I was not turning up to collect tickets booked by someone else. My card was canceled and reissued with a new number through no fault of my own! I was advised by the bank to cut the old card up a request I followed!

"You can also ask the booking office staff to call them to release the ticket for ANY CARD USE."

This is exactly what raileasy refused to do and what I am warning about. They told me my only option was to book new tickets at a cost of over £130.

Hopefully people who aren't lucky enough to work with TOC will avoid the same pitfall I did.

Seems to me Rail Easy is a misnomer.
