I went to Kwik Fit in Otley Leeds with a leak.. the guy knew that he couldn't fix it but still put it up on the ramp showed me exactly what was wrong and told me a few garages that could look at it and how much it should cost. Took 20 minutes of their time and they didn't have to do it..

I went to Kwik Fit in Norwich for an MOT and it passed with nothing wrong on my 9 year old car.

They've been pretty good in my experience of them.. :p

I don't shout about it when I get a fair price and good service, because that is what I expect. I pay them and say Thank You.
It seems nowadays we should be happy (and surprised) with getting exactly what we pay for.

Yes, but my point is, that these days good customer service is a rarity! so why not let others know! after all, that's all i'm doing!! isn't this the praise and vents forum?

  • kwik fit penzance are even better. i put the car in for a service on friday and the customer service was excellent, as was the price and the mechanic (keith) that dealt with my car fixed a fault that would have failed the MOT at no extra cost. brilliant

Another thumbs up for West Country mechanics here.

A few years back, we were holidaying in Cornwall. The car was making a dreadful noise from the exhaust. The wife took it along to a garage in Falmouth whilst I entertained the kids at Flambards - I expected to be paying £100+ for a new exhaust system and our holiday budget blown.

She came back - it had cost the grand sum of £5 - just one small piece of the exhaust was broke and they used a bit they had hanging around for the repair. And it was still fine when we sold the car a couple of years later.

It could have been very easy to rip her off for the cost of a new exhaust.
