been to both Primrose Valley (Haven) and Cayton Bay (Park resorts).

Liked both - but we preferred Cayton Bay - slightly smaller.

However if you go top notch Haven you can get in a lot earlier....

the park resort sites we have been on

Ty Mawr is looking pretty rough
these days not as well kept as other
    sites they own..
The Eyemouth site was really nice
such a pretty place smaller than
other sites they own,but the kids
really liked it there and it had all
the same things as the bigger ones
I think it was Martello Beach we
stayed on one time that was nice
Also the Isle of Wight sites are
    good too.

the Haven sites we have been on

    Presthaven Sands,Martin Mere,
    both are fine enough
    Rockley Park was really nice
Littlesea was poor as was the
    Blue dolphin site.

this year we are going to devon cliffs
for the first time its normaly it gets
booked up and the we are also trying
out the Burnham on Sea site for the
first time too for the second week.

In the main the Haven sites are a little
better and we always seem to get
better prices with Haven as they have
    more offers than park resorts.Especially
on the late availability on the web site.

I have to disagree about Little Sea, we went there this year and it's one of the nicer Haven parks that I have been to. Maybe you went there before they did it up? It has been refurbished and has a Costa Coffee, the staff there are very nice and the most helpfull we have come across, very tidy and well kept park, and you can get the bus to Weymouth Beach right outside reception, saves the hassel of finding a parking space then walking miles with all the beach stuff, it drops you off right at the beach and is every half hour through the high season and every hour in the low season.
Last year we went to Devon Cliffs, although its a lovely park we found it far too busy and too rowdy, and the beach is very smelly there and not very nice.
We have stayed at a few Park Resort sites but not in the last few years so I wouldn't like to comment as the parks may have changed but the one that stands out for me for children would be Romney Sands as the beach there was lovely and the train that runs through the park is very handy and the kids loved it. But then we went there about 4 yrs ago and things can change!!
We have also stayed at Parkdean caravan sites, they are average and some better than others. Here's my list:

Parkdean Ruda - Good Site, direct beach access with lovely beach (5 yrs ago)
Park Resorts - Romney Sands, not very pretty but good beach across the road and small train running through the park (4yrs ago)
Park Resorts - Lower Hyde, Isle Of Wight, Ok Park, close to all amenities, can walk to town centre from park, good location, swimming pool was small and busy and changing facilites were not good. (3 yrs ago)
Park Resorts Sea Acres, Cornwall, small park, not many facilities, small clubhouse and pool but stunning location, short walk to the beach, all tourist attractions were about a hours drive away, ( 3 yrs ago)
Haven Hafan Y Mor, North Wales - very big site, lots to do but too far from anything else for us. Not as pretty as some of the other sites but that may of changed now (3 yrs ago)
Haven Primrose Valley, Yorkshire, lovely park, very big but well landscaped, lots to do but too far away from anything else for us.(1yr ago)
Haven Rockley Park, Poole Dorset. Nice park, good facilities, one of the best.(2yrS ago)
Haven Devon Cliffs, nice park but very hilly, wasn't very fond of the beach, and very lively at nght time with people drunk outside of the complex. Wouldn't go again.(1 YR AGO)
Haven Littlesea, Weymouth - one of my favourites, everything so easy to get to and great bus service, fantastic staff and not too big. (just returned from there a few weeks ago)
Parkdean Trecco Bay South Wales - Very big site. Good park if you dont want to use your car, town centre within walking distance, lots of beaches and amusements nearby. Busy park and parkdean entertainment is not as good as Haven's but they have a seperate bingo hall here so we didn't have to put up with that !! (just returned)

These are just my opinions, I have stated how long ago I visited the sites and things may have changed since I was last there.

Nodes point on the isle of wight is a lovely site, been there camping for the past 3 years but the static area seems very nice. Facilities are good and you can walk down to the beach directly off the camping field.
Plus the I of W is lovely and lots to see and do within a small distance.

We're off to Haven, the Wild Duck nr Yarmouth in September. I used

www.haven.com/morrisons to get 40% discount, and was very pleased with the price.

Generally prefer the Haven sites, the facilities are better and there is more to offer to children in the way of clubs, we found thePark sites were lacking for children.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
