Once upon a Stamp have got back to me now, with rather a curt reply telling me to read the page again . It does say it will show full price and they will adjust it once the order gets through but it's a bit disconcerting to give your credit card details and have the sale confirmed at the full price. If the other shop had the ones I wanted in stock I would probably have gone to them. Seeing as I'm spending money with them a more friendly reply would have been nice :rotfl: . Still, it works out at £15 per set of dies (or £55 if they're the £14.99 ones) so it's a saving worth having. Best I could find BunBun.0 -
Hi all, right, daft question coming up but there is always lots of talk about nesties - and seen the pics - but how do you use them??? Do you use them on their own?? or do you need a special machine or can they be used on a cuttlebug or big shot??? Been dying to ask that for ages - thanks.0

Ali b - I'm no expert, but I, & I think most of us use them with the cuttlebug, where they work fine, you just have to be careful how you arrange the 'sandwich'. Can't just find my instructions but they are easy to use. Not sure if you can use them in a big shot - sorry
Mumhug - could you p'raps look at one or two blogs for challenge sketches to inspire you?0 -
What have you already got, what do you like doing?
Google "free digital stamps" which you can print off and colour. Also google for images of characters you might like and print them off.
I have a friend who likes decoupage, she buys the cheap boxes of Christmas cards where there is about 4 or 5 of the same design, cuts them out and decoupages them.
She also makes toppers from cards received, also Christmas tags.
Pound shops have things in their craft section.
Free background papers can be found on the 'net too for you to print off.
Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Doh! Probably me Mumhug, should have read your post properly! I've only recently joined this thread and hadn't done any cardmaking for about two years so I was looking for inspiration too. I blog hopped and also checked out galleries on some of the card sites like DoCrafts and shop sites like Imag-e-nation, showed me how much styles had changed in that time! Some of the sites I visited had challenges using a particular layout and that got me looking at different ways of laying out my cards.
Somewhere on this thread, in the last three/four weeks I would say, someone put a list of blogs (can't be much longer ago than that as I've not been here any longer than that) and I got a lot of inspiration from looking at them. First thing I did was to buy some backing paper (for Christmas cards), then I ordered a Cuttlebug.

Everyone, how about we kick off the new year with a card challenge on here??? We could start now and run it for a couple of weeks. How about following a sketch - the one below - with the theme of "anything but a Christmas card"?
Mumhug, would that help with your inspiration, will help kick start me into making the cards that I need to x
I've nicked this sketch from this blog:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Thanks MaryI don't have a Cuttlebug die-cutting machine either but this is what one looks like... http://cuttlebugs.com/. You can use it to cut shapes using dies (have to buy these seperately) or emboss shapes/designs onto paper or card. That's the sum of my knowledge I'm afraid
