Can I ask please? I needed some 4" or 5" square cards today & whilst I could make the cards the right size I didn't have envelopes the right size. What do you all do in this situation? Use a bigger envelope? make your own envelope? OR Can you buy 'odd' size envelopes anywhere?
Marg I just did a quick search on ebay and found some 4" square and 5" square envelopes, this might be your best bet0 -
Mary - I'll be thinking about you and your OH tomorrow and wearing my pants inside out!!!
Rainmac - I wanted to make a few mini books this year as presents - looks like that'll have to be put off until next year now. I think I need to start crafting for xmas in Jan. I'll try and get your xmas swap sent to you today - middle son is off school as he is "sick" - although now that I've told him he can stay off he seems a lot better!!!???!!! Glad to hear that you're feeling better - being sick at xmas is horrible!
Marg - I can spend up to 30 mins just deciding what flower to stick on a card - I am useless!!!!0 -
Lei-Armstrong - your tri-fold card is stunning - it must have taken you ages to make!0

I have both 4x4 and also 6x6 cardstock, do you need them in a hurry as I can send you some of each if you would like? (envelopes and card blanks?) let me know.
I have been known to use a 6x6 envelope for a 4x4 card before as I have things so raised (decoupage) that it just won't fit in a standard envelope. I have also been known to trim down a 5x7 card to the right size and then put the made card into a 5x7 envelope still!
Alyssa_liss - I am quite lucky as my OH loves the trofast storage system which we have in DS's room and have just bought some for DD's new room. He is fussy with colours though so the storage in DS's room (white) will soon be mine as he wants the pine coloured stuff for when we decorate DS's room after christmas! I can't wait to have some proper storage!! I already have my stash in 2 x massive storage boxes, then I have 5 x small trofast trays and he has just bought me 2 x deeper storage trofast trays!! ... he did pass comment that my stash no longer fitted in all of the trays even though he bought me 2 x new ones!! (oops) Trofast is also pretty reasonable in price depending on what you want (the white is always cheaper than the pine!)
Craftygranny no hurry for the stash, please just when you have some free time!! I still haven't made a card for padsters card swap  nor have I posted out the stamps from the rak!!
Jammy :j :j yay you will love your cropadile!!
Tomsmum - Fab news your OH is home!! hope you have a lovely christmas together!
Melissa - Thankyou! .... I bet christmas will be so magical in your house with little baby there!! how is he doing? are your other 2 excited? hope your middle son is feeling better soon after his magical speedy recovery lol
Rainmac - Glad your antibiotics are working!! lets hope they take it away and give you some peace over christmas!
Lei - Beautiful trifold card!
Mary - inside out thing will be done tomorrow! Keeping fingers crossed for you and your family!!
THE-WIFE - Keeping my fingers crossed for you aswell!! ... any news as yet?
Bunbun - hope you had a good night out last night :rotfl: even with my txts!! See you tomorrow :j :j :j Kettle on for 10am ish
Not sure if/who I have missed?? sorry if I have? hugs to those who need them!!
P.S Is JHB still partying for passing her exams?? or is she back with us now?
I tried to make OH's christmas card and it went wrong!! It looked lovely til I put an eyelet in what I thought was the right place!! I managed to cover that one with the image and then punched another hole and put in another eyelet and that one was also wonky :rotfl: so I got in a huff with it!!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Thank you Melissa & Rusty for your suggestions & offer of envelopes. DH is going accountants today & there are craft shops nearby so I'm going with him for a hour of crafty retail therapy! Why didn't I think of looking on ebay? Doh!
Just remembered that for the CP 'Post Pals' I did send to Gemma M (Likes polar bears & pink) but forgot to say at the time.
Rusty - For several years now I've packed mine & DH's Christmas cards to each other away with the decorations & we have a laugh about them too when they come out. Very MSE & saves me days of crafting!
Melissa - LOL at middle son's recovery!:rotfl: My Mum used to send us to school if she was in any doubt we we fit to go with the words "Don't worry, If you don't feel well they'll send you home" Mind you, that was in the Dark Ages...
Me useless - you creative!!! Your cards look as if you've spent time on them.0 -

If you can't find anything my offer still standsenjoy your shopping!!
:rotfl: I should tell him we need to recycle!! I started ihs card again and so far so good, it looks fab so far but there is time for it to go wrong!! ...
As for the dark ages ... I am terrible for sending DS to school ... I always say that if he still feels ill at school then they will send him home ... he has never been sent home yetinfact he was complaining his tummy was hurting, but this was after he had told me he was tired (refused to go to sleep last night!) so I told him they would send him home if he was ill :rotfl: what a terrible mother I am!!

I've had a good laugh at the last few posts about how long it takes to make a card. I really thought I was the only one who took so long, I said to OH at the weekend "I think it takes me 10 times longer than anyone else".
Yes, I do the sit and look at paper thing, compare them, say yes then change my mind and start again. OH is better at putting colours together than me. I take ages shaving off the tiniest amount if I think a piece of card isn't quite straight, I can tell even if it's 1mm out (looks like an inch to me :rotfl: ). Double check to make sure I'm not putting things on upside down. Does it need a ribbon or bow - yes - no. Is this paper/image right for the person it's intended for? I think I can honestly say it takes me at least two hours to do the simplest card and then I look at it and can still find faults  . I even have to confess them to OH, "Can you see my deliberate mistake?"
I thought I was the only pernickity, pedantic, perfectionist. Maybe I'm not on my own after all, it makes me feel a whole lot better.
I did get most of my Christmas cards done at the weekend and on the whole I am pleased with them. I did some easel cards and some others that are a bit more modern than my usual ones, I've been lots of research now I've got my mojo back. Sorry I haven't got anywhere to show them, only got my house blog.0 -
Rusty - good for you! All the time I lived @ home I was only sent home from school/work twice so the system worked!0
