The Wife's OH, Mr Grumpy says that he will never go to one of his firms do's. He says that they are bad enough to work for let alone socialise with ''em!!
We have a really nice lunch at a local pub with the firm I work for now.
Been to a few office parties way way back in the City. Young girls sitting in the gutters absolutely smashed. I don't drink 'cos i'm allergic to alchohol, not a pretty sight if I ever have a crafty one, watery eyes, sneezing and snot, NOT a nice look. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
The wife - my hubby & yours must be related - that is his attitude as well. Luckily my works do is when my oh is on nights!! unfortunately I cant get a babysitter (not that I have tried - ahem).whinging and drinking - nah not for me anymore!!0

ali b - Like the idea of a 'party' on here - tipple of choice, no new frock, company I want to be with Yay!
Alyssa - Stay put & save really hard gets my vote.
Rainmac - It's the royal mail I don't trust, once Padster & nannyboo gave me feedback - I'm just a died in the wool pessimist.
Your snowman soup looks good. I've had fun stuff from Hawkins Bazaar in the past. Sadly, my local shop didn't survive but think I'll look at the website - thanks for the heads up.0 -
i know i should stay put and save really, the only reason im considering it it that i know the owner of the house to rent , i wouldnt be in a contract because they understand that after 3 months we might realise we cannot afford it
just thought though , i could put away what we would be spending if we were renting and see if we could live of the rest + saving at the same time (for a deposite)
thanks for the help THEWIFE , ive managed to sort the background out but i still dont think anyone can comment on it
our works doos are good theres only 5 of us so we go for a meal and a drink, were going to a casino night this time0 -

I'd say go for it - you only get one crack at life and it's too short to waste on what ifs plus saving is very boring :rotfl:.
I moved in with OH after only knowing him 3 months and although we've had our ups and downs we've been together 7 years now. Plus if you rent first you don't have to worry about selling if it doesn't work out.
Good idea about trial budget before you take the plunge though - don't forget nasties like bills and stuff :mad:Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Marg if it doesn't arrive I'll go round and duff them up :rotfl:.
Not sure if I should be worried but my postie recognised me out in the street yesterday and greeted me by name - least someone's keeping him in a jobOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I had a bargain today in an unlikely place i must share with you. It may be just my local store so maybe only of use to gemma but in tkmax they had quite a few bits of craft items. I got a do-crafts pack for £9 containing a tree punch, snowman punch, 20 gold metalic cards, 2 packs of xmas stickers/embellishments, 2 pack xmas peel off ribbon, and a pack of anita's 6x6 christmas papers. The ticket said it should have been £25 and i have just priced them all up on-line and it all does come to £25 so i am very happy. Kind of wishing i got the sliver one also now but i can't really afford it so i was being good.

Evening ladies. Just wanted to put in a link to some stamps that are on the craftyplace. They are a RAK and all I ask is you please read the whole thread as there are a couple of conditions which I don't think are unreasonable i.e no selling on etc!! There may also be 1 more to come, I have however offered this to paddingtondoo as it is a bear and I think she would kill me if I didn't ask her to give it a new home first :rotfl: If however she doesn't want it then I will add it to the RAK! Keep your eyes peeled for some more stuff, hopefully I will have some more to get rid of!
Enjoy! xRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
