rainmac - had been thinking the same thing about the boys advent calender was thinking of not giving the lego on consecutive days and maybe putting choc. coins/celebrations in or if nearer xmas you can get little christmas chocs. Originally thinking of doing the advent drawers but the lego wouldnt fit in. So thinking of doing similar to your goody bag & wrapping and numbering them. In Tesco if they still have them in the back to school range - they had reduced fancy erasers or funky pens/pencils - will keep my eyes open. Do you let your boys have tattoos?? that could be a wrap up or cheap glider aeroplanes they are about 30 - 40p??

fedupandskint - I printed off my calenders leaving a space at the top of each month..........then I put a couple of staples in and it seemed to look ok I thought.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Rainamc - just spotted your alternative advent calendar on your blog - it's gorgeous. Did you just write the label? If so your writing is lovely!

Noooooo, my writing's not too bad but it isn't pretty like that! It's a freebie font from Pink Peticoat, I just did the text in word and printed it out and then found something that was circular that I could draw round and cut the label out ;)

Great ideas ;) I was wondering about adding things like make biscuits (wrapped thing would be a biscuit cutter), make paper chains or other decoration, go to see Santa (I would book this in advance)... So like the idea, think I'm going to go for it and want to make sure everyone is as Xmasy as possible as I for one love Xmas :D I'm also making a Xmas Eve hamper, did one last year and left it in the living room for the boys to find Xmas Eve morning and acted dumb as to how it got there. I included reindeer food and torches, Xmasy DVD and books, new pyjamas, plate to decorate for Santa's biscuits that we made, a carrot (for the reindeer)... We had wrapping paper left over so wrapped the whole doorway to the living room on Xmas Eve night so the boys had to literally break into the living room to see their presents on Xmas Day morning. Am I a nutter, leave it up to you to decide ;)
