OMG, just logged on first post I hit, and looks like the spendy elves have run riot...... it must be something in the air! I couldn't sleep last night and popped onto QVC to see if they'd got the MS Scoreboard back in and they did, so I ordered one. I must say I barely resisted the MS punches they are going on my Birthday list (along with a thousand and one other things). Then this morning DS got me up at a ridiculous hour, so I thought I'd check my emails and guess what Docrafts have a little sale on...... so I ended up ordering a few things. Going to have get on and list a few bits on eBay now to pay for my spree:D0 -
Wanna-b-rich I really want most of the stuff on Docrafts sale but can't justify paying an extra £5 for postage! lolGC July: £0/£1200

I see the spendy elves have been busy again lol
I have had a mad few days doesn't seem as if I have had time to do anything much had to call an ambulance out to Rhys Tuesday morning as he kept passing out, on the Monday night he fell and hit his hand turns out he has broken his finger and the pain was making him pass out so we spent most of tuesday at the hospital with him then yesterday morning the phone rings and it was his friends mum checking that he was still coming to his party whoops had forgotten all about it luckly I had got a present so rushed aound yesterday morning to get a card made before I had to go to work.
I have managed to get my atc done for the swap just need to get a card made and sort out some stash will try to get them done in the next couple of days.0 -
dragonllew, sounds like a scary day, so glad Rhys is ok, can't beleive you made a card after all of that, I would have used one of my cheapie Tesco standbys or more likely not got around to sorting one at all
Rusty, a day on the beach with chips and ice cream is my idea of heaven. Food tastes nicer when eaten by the sea I think. I have to ask does Ferrero Rocher ice-cream have bits of the chocs in it? I want some NOW!!!
Jailhouse, mother's day cards is a great idea for a challenge. I've made my mum's but have MIL's to do.
Marg, can you please remind me how you make your minted lamb casserole
TheWife & Popkins, hope you're both feeling better xxx
We've had a quiet couple of days at home, I've cleaned the oven, tidied all over and have the dreaded ironing to do today . Think I will counteract the ironing by making an Alice cake so I can reward myself afterwards with a hefty wedge and a cuppaMy boys stayed in the pjs all day yesterday and loved it. I kept pestering them to get dressed but they just didn't want to.
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
dragonllew - hugs to Rhys - hope he is ok x
Mmm the minted lamb casserole sounds nice - please share!0 -
Rusty, sorry forgot to answer your question, the Penny Black hedgehog stickers I have used are just stuck onto white card, simple! You really can't see that they are stickers unless you study the image or look for the edges. I was amazed!!! The PB stickers were called stickeroos and I bought a sheet from the NEC in November. One sheet was less than a £ and would easily make 8-10 cards.
It's snowing here and really, really cold. Time for another cuppa, maybe I should start the ironing if only to keep warm! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Dragonllew - How scary for you all! hope he is feeling better soon poor thing!! sending hugs! xx
Rainmac - Yes it does have bits of the choccys and nuts in, definately heaven!! .... will upload some pics to my blog later on of our day outThankyou for the info re stickers! I never saw them at the NEC :rotfl: guess I wasn't looking hard enough!
Oooh minted lamb casserole ... can it be slow cooked in the slow cooker? sounds yummy
Not caught up properly got to dash to take DS to the train station to go stay with his dad (if you can call him a dad that is!) DD has kept me up most of the night screaming in pain!! I am shattered!
have a good day all!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rusty, you gotta send some of that ice cream down here, do you think it will keep frozen in the post in this weather...? Sorry your DD is keeping you up. My little one was up in the night (but not all night like you x), he has yet another cold and is struggling to breath properly at night. He got in such a state poor thing. Hope tonight is better for both of us xxx:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

Dragonllew - Huge (((hugs))) for Rhys hope his finger mends soon and even bigger (((hugs))) for you too - for the stress!! Cards before work! I'm impressed.
Rusty - sorry - even though we live by the sea I'm not tempted by it at all - we were on the way to the bank yesterday and got a call on my mobile I could hardly hear them for the b* seagulls. The chap I was speaking to was in Manchester & said 'enjoy your day at the seaside' as if I was on a daytrip:rotfl:
Rainmac - I'm no cook so bear with me....I get a lamb shank from our butcher (sizes vary but usually this is enough for 2 plus I'm not that fond of meat) 1 large onion, say, 4 carrots, 1 large (baking type so it 'falls')potato, 1 tin of chopped tomatoes, dessertspoon or so of mint sauce (from a jar)!! I put all the chopped veg in the slow cooker first, then the lamb, followed by the tinned toms, mint sauce, a bit of black pepper on top - job done! I've found lately that if I've got time when we get home, an hour in the oven concentrates the flavour as it evaporates some of the liquid. The meat just falls off the bone and I sometimes have to skim some fat off the top - think this is why the vinegar in the mint sauce helps. I guess any other root veg or a bit of chopped celery would be Ok in there as well if you have them lurking. (Flourgirl like your soup the other day:))
I've got ironing to do too - it does warm you up.0
