I had the same experience in Tesco Doncaster today. The SEL states bags of Granny Smith or Golden Delicious get 50 extra points. Nothing about having to get 2 bags. I had to get customer services to add the points on without any hassle.
I didn't know you can get double points if they don't go on automatically. Is this true?

Thanks for letting me know that my points were not added- I'd have never checked my receipt otherwise!

they didnt go on but the girl didnt even go to check, she said she remembered something about the apples not registering points and added them manually, didnt get double though? should i of?

Ditto Tesco South Wigston - I did get the 50 points for two bags automatically added, but nowhere did it say I had to buy two bags (that was just what I wanted anyway) and I was expecting 100 having bought two.

  • I bought 2 packs in the Llansamlet, Swansea branch today. There were no details on any of the bags, but signs all over the shelves. Nothing was added at the checkout, but went to customer services and after checking the shelf they immediately added 100 points on. No mention anywhere about having to have 2 bags. This was the prepacked Crunchy Granny Smiths for £1 per bag.
    Earnings so far (2010)
    Cashed out: £29.52
    Confirmed: £52 (requested)
    Pending: £60+

I bought two bags of granny smiths on Tuesday having seen the SEL which definitely didn't say anything about two bags. Realised when I got home that the points weren't on my receipt.

I called in today and spoke to the lady at customer services who told me the points didn't show up until your statement, and that they would be there under "promotional points". Sounded like a fob off to me, but I couldn't face an argument. Then I went and bought two packs of golden delicious and lo and behold, points on the receipt. I'll take the first receipt back in again next shop - hopefully get a more useful CS lady.

I bought two bags of granny smiths yesterday as the SEL said 50 points per bag. I also bought the baked walkers crisps as they were also 50 points per bag. Neither lot of points showed up on my bill.

I queried it at CS and was told that the new system meant that points were added later and I should check my points and will see them go on at some point. Seems like rubbish to me so I may try and give Tesco a ring and see what they say.

There were points on milk the other day and i never got those either.

I bought items that I would buy anyway, but I still don't like to be misled like this.

I've just phoned Tesco HO and was told that promotional points take between 3-5 weeks to appear on your statement, so I was to be patient.

I still feel I am being misled though especially since others on this thread have received their points straight away.
