I have bought something and it stated Free shipping to the UK (it is from china) when I try to pay the last screen in Paypal adds $2.50 for shipping to the U.S
I correctly selected the Free Shipping on the screen before and it clearly stated Free shipping to the UK in the auction.
The Item only cost 60p ($1.00).
Not sure what to do,am I missing something when trying to pay?
How hard would this be to explain to someone who doesn't have English as a first language, when I am not sure I have explained it very well in the first place.
Just to clarify this is on Ebay UK.

Is there a chance your ebay account was registered on ebay.com instead of .co.uk?My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
No I have had it for years and it's definitely .co.uk
It's a bit strange isn't it.0 -

I wonder if this might be the compulsory insurance that some Far East sellers add..which is soon to be stopped?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Go back to the listing in ebay and check that the shipping location in the postage & packing section is set to United Kingdom.
Then try and pay via checkout."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
It would depend where it was originally listed on.frivolous_fay wrote: »Do all Chinese listings appear in dollars?
If the seller originally listed it on ebay.com with worldwide/UK shipping (including the cost to UK), then the prices will be in USD (with GBP equivilent) when viewed on ebay.co.uk"Now to trolling as a concept. .... You are right,it is insurance.
Strange I purchased other stuff from the same seller and wasn't charged.
Very sneaky 60p becomes £2.12 :rotfl: oh well ,glad it wasn't more I suppose.
It has a default and you can't opt out of it.
Note to self be more careful in future

The free insurance issue is one thing that will be eliminated from Autumn this year. From that date no seller can add anything for insurance unless it is included in the p and p price already.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just wondered, can you not pay for it and risk an NPB? But report to ebay?
How did the seller managed to add the 'compulsory'(not) insurance on?
