And usually if you can afford it - you don't want it!!0

I've never been to one myself, but as far as I know the quality will be very good, as for cheaper, no, but you pay for the quality.0

Funnily enough OH and I went to our first local farmers market just last week and even though the quality of most of the produce looked quite good, not all clean and sparkly like out of the supermarket, it was very expensive. I realised that it would cost more but could not really justify the extra amount I would of spent .
It was something I really wanted to do but £14 for two small pieces of steak, maybe once in a blue moon but not for my weekly shop..... I was disappointed that it was not more reasonable.... Good idea but not if you are in money saving mode......
Walking around I was struck that most of the people buying were , 'well heeled', is what my old mum would of said......#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

What a coincidence - I was in Stratford on Saturday
I didn't go to the market, I was tempted but you can't really buy raw food when you're staying in a B&B.
I spotted Barry The Butcher in Chapel St or Church St, they had a queue out of the door and the prices that I saw in passing seemed reasonable. If I lived locally I'd give the market butcher a wide berth and stick with Barry!0 -
Funnily Enough the market is being held in the Metropolitan Police Club in Chigwell (very high brow and loads of rich/famous people )Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0

It could have been Tesco's value really. Very greasy. I had to last bit for my lunch today. I was not throwing any of it away.
We live and learn :rolleyes:0 -
If there is no price displayed then ask. Don't be caught out like me and pay £6 in money for a pound of mince!!0
