There was a meat stall that looked very nice but no prices anywhere to be seen.
I thought I would just buy a pound of mince from the man to try.
I could not believe it when he said £6 in money for it   . I just paid and walk away not believing what I had just paid for it.
Good job I didn't ask for chops.
I think you will find that most things that do not have a price displayed will be a lot dearer than normal.
The vendor relies on you being too embarrassed to complain.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
That is extortionate!! I never buy if I can't see the price. We have two butchers down my street, one is lovely but never displays his prices properly and the other is not so nice but every price is displayed clearly with lots of special offers and he is more than happy to sharpen my knives for me, guess which one gets my business??Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

It could just be that I'm cynical ....I live near Stratford upon Avon and the prices for most things are horrendous....probably because (a) it's a tourist trap, and (b) because a lot of local businesses and the local council think anyone who can afford to live in this area is rich! I feel you have been ripped off, but (cynical, as I said) since it was STratford upn Avon I'm NOT surprised!People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Yes it is a lovely part of the world Halloweenqueen- I actually live about 11 miles from Stratford, in a nice old fashioned market town with butchers, greengrocers, hardware shop, post office, small co-op, couple of charity shops and so on....most shop keepers very friendly, lovely atmosphere, always a few people walking about so that the place feels alive. You can buy most things you need right here, butchers sells very good quality meat, and the greengrocers gets me large plastic bottles of white vinegar whenever I want them......makes my blood boil when I hear locals talking about their latest trip to Tesco or MOrrisons in Stratford upon Avon - why don't people understand use it or lose it? Anyway, we have a farmers market here once a month, never been able to go before but my working hours have changed now so I'm on a mission to investigate the next one......but I won't be paying THAT much for mince LOL!!!!People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Hi,
I've just found out that there is a Farmers Market near me this Sunday. I have never been to one before and am quite excited as i've always wanted to go to one.
Are they good? Cheaper? Better quality?
Is there anything i should watch out for or look out for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Carrie.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0
