PLEASE can anyone help me? :-)

Hi guys, :smileyhea

I was not sure where to post this so posted it here, please let me know if i am in the wrong place and i will move it.

Me and my partner have just bought a house, we are getting a computer next month and i have been left with the job of setting up the connections.

We dont have sky or a working phoneline, so i am hoping to get some sort of deal where we can have Sky, Phone land line and the internet, and the cheapest sort of deal at that. The house already has a phone line so i take it i would just need that to be connected?

If anyone could give me any sort of advice on any deals you know about or deals you currently have / had and the prices or links to websites that would be absolutly great, i dont really know where to start and dont want to be ripped off.

Many Thanks in advance and i will give a BIG thanks to any of you that reply. :T

Cheers,

Louise :o

Sky will be doing broadband later this year. If you want Sky and not cable you'll probbaly have to have a separate Sky deal, BT landline for phone and an isp for now. You muight consider the 'Talk Talk' phone land broadband deal - but as it has an 19month contract you may like to wait and see how they cope.

You can get all 3 together from NTL/Telewest but only if you are in a cable area - and then you wont get 'Sky' but rather 'Cable'. This is similar but not quite the same thing - you get different bundles of channels depending on how much you pay.

Bear in mind if you do go for any deal with NTL/SKY you will be tied in for 12 months. Might be worth havingfreeview for a few months and wait to see how the market place responds to the 'Talk Talk' offer. I'm sure there will be some other TV/Broadband/Phoen deals coming out over the summer period.

Hope this is some food for thought!

Some bundles are only cheap to start with, I would try to do it all sperate, we have and it has worked out brilliantly.

    Do it in priority order:-

    TELEPHONE:
Get a basic BT landline for your line rental BT Together Option 1 BT are not allowed to stop you using Call Carrier Services.
Next for all your calls got http://www.1899.com/ Sign up online using direct debit, it's quick its easy and it the cheapest calls around, beats BT hands down. More info on this and others here 1899 Thread on MSE Site. This slashed our monthly telephone down to £14 max per month including call costs.

    INTERNET
This is a big field but you need to shop around and I would say read the boards depending on what you are after. For A1 broadband service I can say thumbs up to http://www.idnet.net/broadband/ amazing, freephone help, no call centres, run by a small effective team and not over subscribed, as long as you pay the set up costs you are not tied in.

    SKY TV
Have a good think, do you really need all that TV, if you both work full time and you will have the internet as well why not try Freeview to start with, it's getting better all the time. If you still need more look at top up TV, if that fails your tv hunger then go for sky and use the freeview in the bedroom or something. But it is easier to upgrade when you are not happy with a service, but downgrading if you are dissapointed is hard to do, well at least for 12 months.

    Good Luck
